I feel it is pretty average phone (if we ignore the price). Build quality is very cheap especially the back cover. To some reason mini usb (charging point) connection from other chargers does not fit very well.
Handset is good for basic use but Windows Phone store is very confusing and good apps are difficult to find. Personally, I don't like the interface. Too much animation and font colors are very bright with limited options to choose background and tile color and size.
Good as backup phone with basic features. Windows is still way behind Android and iOS.Android's UX is a terrible mess and iOS intra-page navigation is horrible (partly due to lack of a back button) combined with the ghastly iOS7 re-skin. By the same measures there is too much animation in iOS and no option for icon colour and size.
Windows 8.1 is a fully featured OS…not way behind.
What apps are difficult to find?
Can't comment on build quality but if it's anything like other Nokia polycarb housings it should be solid.
Can't really see any better option for $84/$99 or quite a lot more $$$.
May be I have used Android for long time, so I like the interface. I do not feel it is mess.
I used iPhone for 2 months and it gradually grew on me because of some interesting apps. Missing Back button is a big annoyance, but its app and data management is worth praising.
Windows phone does not have all the apps that I use on Android and iOS like Candy Crush, Canberra Times, Peak, International news, and few others. Windows might grew on me but currently all the apps with same style including settings - simply find annoying. Feels like I am in same app every time.

if u meant that 'can i unlock if i buy it from voda reseller' answer is yes.. but same thing applies… $75 or $25.battery life good for me.. last for 7 days if u dont use it (probbly more), 2-3 days normal use (email, short calls and sms/whatsapp, no game).
still, some android phone have larger battery capacity… thus might be better :D

Costs $75 from Vodafone if you want to unlock. Attempts to unlock via eBay or other services have been unsuccessful thus far.
Harvey Norman and TGG sell the unlock model for $228.
Is there hardware difference between the lock model and unlock model?
I think the unlock model is dual sim. Other than that, identical.

Kogan now sell the dual sim unlock version for $139+35, $174 in total, may be a better if you are not using a vodafone sim

630 vs 520. Hmmmm?
The 630 is 90 Lumias better than.the 520.
You might need to find a bargain on calculators. :P
I estimated diminished returns of 20 Lumias upgrading from 520 to 630.
U can unock 520 for about $25 on ebay.

This site charges US$19.99 to unlock Lumia 630 from Vodafone. Has anyone tried them yet?

I haven't tried them but I have just sent them an email to check if they have successfully unlocked a 630 from Australia.

Can they unlock the Australia Vodafone Lumia 630?I've contacted a few unlockers now, and it appears the phone isn't unlockable at present, but they are hopeful the unlock data will be available soon.
