Are these better than the Extreme II ones? Cause MSY has one day deal AU $275 for 480 GB or AU $145 for 240GB.

Looks like the read/write speeds are similar.

    • these come with a 10 year warranty.

      Normal Price at MSY

      SanDisk Extreme II
      120G / 240G / 480G /

      • Cool thanks!

So in-short, the extreme pro is more than a year newer and also slightly faster both in both read and writing speed. For similar price it is definitely better to buy the Extreme Pro.

  • Being a complete SSD noob, how do these compare to Samsung 840 EVO?

  • how exactly do i buy from amazon.com? I have an account and all but says it doesnt ship to my address?

    • +1

      No such problem here.
Did you "Remember to select Shipped and sold by Amazon from the far right" as per instructions?

  • Does anyone know how does the warranty work with Amazon US?
Considering it is not local, shipping back a broken drive may be quite expensive?

  • +1

Seems to not have power-loss protection which may be a dealbreaker.

Also, prices quoted are in $US and do not include shipping.

    • +1

      prices in USD include shipping

reason for USD prices is variation in exchange rate for different credit cards.

Ill leave it up to the buyer to calculate in AUD

      • +1

        240GB US$135 = AU$145
        480GB US$270 = AU$285
        960GB US$455 = AU$487

Conversion done using xe.com so use as a ballpark figure.

        • Can anyone comment on how quick the Amazon $5 shipping option is? Thanks.

        • +2

          @seb:

5 - 7 days but can take up to 12 days depending on customs.

Quickest for me was 3 days

        • @easternculture:

          Working days or days?

        • @luka:

          days

        • +2

@seb: amazon now ships to a contractor in melbourne who then send it to you using auspost compared with before they shipped it with usps. So its always going to take at least a week now to get stuff from amazon.

yeah you obviously haven't compared the difference in performance have you, your comparing a budget SSD with a performance SSD… ends up being a decent difference…not to mention reliability and longevity.

        You're right.
But can you really tell the difference for daily use?
I'd rather buy that "budget" SSD with lower price and local warranty.

        • +1
          1. Sandisk provides AU warranty as well. You ship/deliver the broken drive directly to them. See above.
          2. Sandisk pro drive has 10 years warranty compared to 3 years warranty for the Crucial drive.
        • +1

It's not even $10 difference for a much much much better SSD and Sandisk have international warranty. And 10 years international warranty is as good as any local warranty you are gonna get.

  • Question! If I pay with my 28 Degrees card on Amazon, do I choose AUD or USD as my currency?

    • All ways in USD

      • Thanks!
