Was one of the best, outdated now. Much better buys are out there
    eg: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/160656

    • Pay another 10 AUD an you get Samsung 840 EVO 250GB (very good review and most reviewed in amazon), that's a NORMAL Price.
(DAMN it Miss Samusng 840 evo deal for 119 AUD)

  • still a pretty decent drive for being 2.5 years old now, though dunno how it stacks up against the current sandisk/samsungs

Poorly ;) Compare via the link below

      • I wish I could find similar comparative data on the reliabilty of various SSDs.
I was searching those exact parameters when your post came up.
Reliabilty as in write cycles/lifespan is everything!

        • Annual failure rates for SSD's run at around 1.5% & HDD's roughly 5%
Maybe we should be more concerned about failure of our outdated hardware, ie:HDD's.
Backup your system drive & data areas & have peace of mind. If it's an SSD or HDD, your data is still important. :)))

I was told by one of the repair techs at centrecom that Intel has had the least returns with OCZ having the most failures, although that was almost 2 years ago.

Is there any data out there to suggest which ssd's fail more than others?

    • There is some but not a huge amount and its hard to distinguish bias. Having said that, I have seen a few people refrence this French suppliers rerturn rate FWIW.

    • I've only had SandForce SSD's fail, one OCZ and one Corsair both 60GB

    • My personal experience agrees with this statement. My OCZ failed after 1.25 years and I have been loving my Intel since then (1.5 years). It would take a lot for me to change from only buying Intel SSDs from now on. All SSDs are very fast when compared to HDD, but there is no point to them unless they are reliable.

  • Even though the performance of this drive is a little slow, it's still one of the most reliable SSDs out there. The statistics show it. Personally, I have one that's run for over 9,000 hours and it's still going strong.

    • According to SMART stats, my drive has been on for 907672 hours ;) obviously a bug that hasn't been addressed despite the firmware updates.
