Samsung 55" UA55H7000 15% off - $1698 @ JB Hi-Fi

80

I bought this a month ago from jb. Was monitoring prices for a price change refund with my credit card.

Cheapest you will find i think. Extra 5% off if you got the coupon from the jb newsletter earlier this week.

Should take it down to $1598 but in store only!

I had to ask the store guy to update the store price to match the web price.

  • Beware of the smearing in dark scenes!

      I haven't noticed any smearing?

      Care to explain?

      • Sorry mate I took so long, it's a downside about the type of panel, there are downsides to all panels, and because this panel offers better black levels compared to some others, the one downside is you get smearing of the red/purple when you are watching at reasonable brightness levels and there is a dark scene.

I've had this TV for a bit over a month. Has served me well after adjusting factory settings. Haven't noticed the above issue.

      • Can you post your settings?

      • Tweaking the settings won't remove the problem. It is less noticeable when the backlighting and brightness is set to high, which is against the ideal to get the best blacks.

        • Thanks OnlinePred.

Like I said I havent noticed it myself but also havent watched enough tv since i bought it. (Stupid work!)

Maybe its also dependant on the type of panel it is? I have the Samsung panel apparently, code T02 on the back.

I did some reading on another forum and this particular model could have shipped with 1 of 4 different panels from different manufactures. T02 being the samsung made panel and the best of the 4 apparently.

        • @krim: yes i have the sharp panel which is the second best one.

        • @OnlinePred:

Maybe try taking it back to the store and requesting a TV with the samsung made panel.

A few people said they had some success with that approach.

  • Was talking about this TV not a few hours ago. Does any one have any first hand experience using this model? If only I had time to buy 16x $99 gift cards lol

A better deal is to purchase it from TGG (http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/buyonline/Samsung_55%22(140cm)_FHD_LED_LCD_200Hz_3D_Smart_TV_UA55H7000AW) for $1695. Then claim a $200 prepaid VISA through their realcash promotion: http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/cons/groups/public/documents/b…

    Total cost: $1495.

    • Good find! Buy it from the good guys haha
