    I think they are the best middle eastern airline, better than emirates and etihad.

      For my coin, Emirates are the worst of the mid east carriers…10 abreast on the 777 with the narrowest seats and smallest pitch compared to Etihad and Qatar. And in my experience always the most expensive, and the worst connection times to Athens. Min 5 hour wait in DXB compared to 2 hour connection time in Doha with Qatar and similar in Abu Dhabi with Etihad. Thats my 2c

    I traveled A LOT with Emirates, and I think Qatar has almost the same quality. But prices are cheaper so its an outstanding choice :]

  Flew last year with Qatar to Rome (economy), couldn't fault them :)

  Their Business Class setup is top notch. It consistently wins a lot of awards.

  I've done three trips between Manchester and Perth using Qatar (mainly because they were always cheaper and the dept/arr times were better) and I'm more than happy with them. Planes are in good condition and the food is decent enough too.

  Skytrax ranking for Qatar 5 stars, the top ranking. By comparison Qantas gets 4 stars.

  Hmm, trying to do a multi city stop Melbourne>Paris and Athens>Melbourne during those periods and it doesn't come back that cheap (bout 4k).

  Got quoted cheaper through Flight Center using Qatar..

    Well, lookts to me like they jacked up the price from last week and are calling it a sale. Checked with FC again and theyre quoting me the same price as the website.

    Gotta be in quick I guess.

  I have done a test of trip to Paris and it is dearer than advertised. Rang Qatar Melbourne office and was told that it is very difficult to get a return flight on this special rate during October. Guess you just have to keep trying various dates until you can get special fare which has availability.
  I also priced going business class from BKK to Frankfurt return and it was 90 000 Thai baht which is about $3000 dollars return. If you choose dates carefully you can travel in their Dreamliner, 787, from Doha to FRA, Very spacious as well as great service and food. I especially enjoyed the single seat by the window. Read T&C - non refundable, and certain black out dates. Travel insurance as always is a must.

  As expected these prices basically don't exist in December and January; despite outside of "17th-23rd December 2014 and 2nd-11th January 2015 Blackout"

  I had a 25 minute flight with Qatar Airways today, they weren't too bad. Definitely would fly them again.
