Bueller had a Mueller, but I switched it for a Miele
‘Cause I’m richer, and prior to this shit was movin’ freebase !

    • I positioned according to "price" and nothing changed!

  • 30 day money back guarantee? can we keep using a new one every month?

  • And here is the product selector with different model numbers. I've got Model - W5873 brilliant Machine !! Worth every Cent ! http://www.miele.com.au/au/domestic/products/washingmachines…

      All 269,900 cents?
Even at 239,900 cents I couldn't do it.

  • For these prices I'd want them to be able to collect the laundry, wash it, hang it out to dry.

My last Miele washer and dryer lasted just under 25 years of moderate to heavy use. These things are built to last hence the price. The washers are fully built and assembled in Germany while I believe the dryer components are manufactured in Germany and assembled in the Czech Republic.
As with most cases, you get what you pay for.

      • Understand what you're saying but there's bugger all to washing machines and dryers and there are plenty of good quality ones around for far less $$$. Even if they last a decade you can then upgrade to the latest technology and still be ahead. Nice having a choice though.

      • My last Simpson front loader lasted 15 years of moderate to heavy use, but cost substantially less than half the above.

There's nothing wrong with the quality (although functional design doesn't seem so advanced), but just that you pay a substantial premium for the product. Fine if you want that, but the price is not proportional to longevity.

What happened to it after 25 years?

        • +1

It hired a Simpson to do the chores for half a price and retired to Germany

I'd highly recommend checking out the Miele Clearance Centre in Knoxfield, Victoria if you can make it in there. Prices are usually 30% - 50% by standard and occasionally they have additional stock clearances!
I've purchased a washer, dryer and dish washer all through them. The majority of the stock is returns under the 30 day change of mind warranty so there's literally nothing wrong with it. Heck, the dishwasher was still in factory crate and wrapping!

They are literally behind the main show room there.

    • Why are they so expensive? Are they 6/6 stars energy rating?

Very hard to get any discount off on Miele Washing Machines.

Meile have sale pretty much EVERY year, for example:

  • The do have regular sales, but in my time in sales, I cant remember them doing $300 off. Very good value if you want a Miele. IMO I would look at an ASKO instead at the moment, $200 off their mid model, and you get $150 back on you water bill because of its industry best water and energy rating. Still a lot more then a Samsung or LG though - just depends on what you're after.

  • Call me cheap but I can get maybe two or three Samsung or LG washing machines for the price of one Miele. Beyond the paying for the name, I don't quite understand the value in Miele.

Miele would argue they look after/wash your clothes better (and so last longer). Important if you buy $300 jeans, and $500 cashmere jumpers… Not so for $5 Kmart trackies

  • how does Miele compare to Bosch & Siemens?
sales told me Miele washers are more quiet.

    • +1

very very similar noise level. Miele are slightly better build quality imo but Bosch are substantially cheaper.

      • thanks for the feedback!
