They are fine, just like any other budget airline.
If you can save enough to afford a second holiday, which I have, then it would be foolish not to use them. And their food is pretty good and reasonably priced.
I have had a flight cancelled, and they did not leave me stranded. They offered me seats on any alternative flight, or a refund. It meant we had a long stop over in KL, and was a hassle, but these things happen occasionally on any airline.
It is the reason travel insurance exists.

So which ones do you recommend then? I'm sure there will be plenty of people that had bad experience with any airline that you can mention :)) does not mean that they are crap.

agreed… ive had other airlines do the same. if u get travel insurance and pay $1 for water you'll be ok.

Flown on them over a dozen times. I'd prefer to pay for water than pay hundreds of $$ more. Beer is great at $3. Coffee for $1.50.

Width and pitch is about the same as full service airlines.

I've had a flight cancelled on me before they just booked me on the next flight. It just meant an extra night in Bali and did something I wanted do but didn't think about until we got there and wanted to treat my wife too. So we went and stayed at the Elephant Safari lodge and got to go swimming with the elephants. It was an amazing experience. Delays and cancellations are part of the travel experience. You buy decent travel insurance to protect against it and I always book a few days extra holidays from work to make sure a delay isn't a big deal.

But they are a LCC and as far as LCCs go they're great.

      • While I agree with most of what you mentioned, the pitch/width comment is simply not true. I have gone into detail before, but they use the 2nd most dense A330 in the skies today, only beaten by Cebu Pacific.

They have as many seats in the A330 as Korean Airlines has on their A380.

Not much savings at all. I've checked yesterday and it only discount seat prices. The bulk of the price is toward airport taxes and fees and they're not discounted.

    • +3

They never discount of taxes and fees.

  • im sorry this is really not much of a deal. Eg SYD-KUL the fare is $60 and the taxes are $160. you are only saving on the $60 which is miniscule at 4 people.
    Normal 60+160 x 4 = 880
    Discounted 60x4x50% + 160x4 = 760
    120 saving = 14% no 50%!

    • This is the same with all their sales. What matters is the total price at the end of the day.
