Google Cardboard VR with Head-Band for $7.64 Delivered from FastTech

30

I know $3.6 cardboard deal is already here - even I have ordered that :) (can't wait)
But as much as am excited to receive that - I started searching for velcro head bands to buy and add that to the To-be-arrived cardboard as I do not want to hold it all day long if I really get into it :p
I came across this deal which includes that headband and cost $4 extra. Although it seems too much for additional headband, I have not seen price lower than this for complete package, if you have then this deal can be removed.

you wont really get into it, its decent for under ten bucks but pretty average overall

    • I read there are apps which can let you play game on pc while streaming the same in your mobile for use with cardboard. That would be cool I guess.
May be not now - but there will be increased efficiency and reality component quite soon with these apps and games.

      • The app that lets you use your phone as a VR headset for PC games is called Trinus Gyre. It is ~$5 in the app store, but there is a free version with a 10 minute limitation so you can make sure it works for you.
I haven't tried it yet, but it is high up on the list of things to test when I've sorted out comfort issues on my colorcross.

  • I dont get it.

You admit that these cardboard things sell for $3.60
You also admit that $4 for the extra velco is not cheap

Yet you still post this as a bargain?

    • I understand your point but for people who want this unit with headband - I could not find a better bargain. On tinydeal it's for $10+

As someone who has Cardboard, and just had a ColorCross unit delivered today, I am dubious that non-elastic velcro strap is going to be helpful for holding cardboard on your face. Also, as someone who attached an elastic strap to cardboard, even if you do manage to get it held tight against you face it isn't going to be much fun.

(Note: for those considering a ColorCross, you will need to add extra padding to that too if you want to keep your face in working order; apparently the Durovis Dive is a whole lot more comfortable, but of course more expensive).
