No. Much different. It's more like if you want the time on your phone in a very specific format/layout, to fit your background, this will be great. I once used it to display battery level in very small don't in a precise place in my background. Ask yourself: am I really this anal about design?

@Kevan2: your phone needs to be rooted, then install adblock plus via their web-site. It blocks most advertising services on most apps. Invaluable to me. Personally, I still buy the odd app if the developer is doing good stuff.
I've used the same setup since i got the app so i don't' really see any ads.

Minimalistic Text is a widget app that displays information in a minimalistic way.
It can be configured to display time, date, battery and weather information. The layout of the widget is highly customizable through the layout editor.
It's midday on the 24th AEST and the promo code worked for me.
Im not exactly sure when the app does expire, but since its app of the day, I assume it expires sometime between 24-48hrs?
