From the site…

Depositphotos regularly sells monthly subscriptions and credits on their site.

With this deal we're giving you something you can't even buy on their site.

For only $39, we're giving you 100 downloads of any photo or vector, OF ANY SIZE, from Depositphoto's huge library of photos and vectors.

There's no rush to download them like there is with a monthly subscription and no worrying about using numerous credits for large images. Download any image of any size whenever you need it!

Normally, images from Depositphotos are anywhere from $0.50 for the extra small images all the way up to $9 for the triple-extra large images.

Even if you download only medium size images, that regularly would cost you $500+. With this special deal, you're only paying $0.39 per image of any size!

Need more than just 100 images? You can buy AS MANY ORDERS of this deal as you want!

This is a pretty good deal for when you need a pic for an assignment or presentation.
The other cheap way to get legit stock photos is via Fiverr, where sellers with bulk subscriptions to istockphoto will provide you with 5 pics of your choice for $5.

    • The fiverr method surely doesnt mean you have a legit licence to use the image?

      • If they are graphic designers who have a licence to supply images for their client's use, it isn't any business of istockphoto how much they sell their services for.

        • That said, I probably wouldn't use this source to run a billboard campaign or magazine, as you only have the assurances of the seller that they have the license. But then you only have istockphoto's assurances too.
It's turtles all the way down!

      Now that's a handy tip!

Another one is http://www.morguefile.com/ - it's for "reference only" so you need to modify it (photoshop) before using it, but it's free.

  • I smell socks and puppets

    • Where? matticusfinch has a varied posting history and the morguefile link is an alternative free service to the deal, so it would be the most subtle sock puppet ever.

      • Firstly he's on his L plates. Secondly, someone +ve the deal and said they got it almost immediately. Thirdly, it doesn't seem that great a deal. Fourthly, it is a very niche product…plenty of free images for use available online. You are a power user here, but the others, not so much.
anyway, if you can prove it's legit, I'll retract my statement.
there's a good reason there's almost no paid software deals on here…because you can get freeware! Same with images

If you are using images commercially, the ability to search and find a quality picture quickly, with a licence for reproduction, is quite useful. Getty charges $300 an image and up, istockphoto $20 or more, so 100 for $40 is a good deal.
The appsumo people have been posted before. They are kind of a humble bundle site for services to online marketers/bloggers etc.
So I think the offer is pretty good for those who it is targeted at, and the vendors are legitimate.
matticusfinch has been a member since 2012, and while this is their first bargain post, they have made a dozen other posts/comments on subjects unrelated to either appsumo or stock photography. They claim to be from NSW and the other comments suggest an Australian. Both websites in this post are American.
It would be some pretty amazing astroturfing to set up accounts in 2012, use them legitimately, then in 2014 use them for a sock puppet post.
So while I like your nose for smelling out users trying to misuse this site, I think it has been over active this time.

Zounds! You got me. I've spent years putting this deal together. All for nothing. I just wanted to dupe a few innocent ozbargainers into purchasing stock photography at a great price. If you've ever tried to sign up for a service like this you'd understand the value. I've been waiting patiently for an offer for some time.

I guess I am a power user, that is a power leecher rather than a power contributor. I just never feel like I have anything useful or helpful to contribute. As for spotting bargains, well I find most of them here. I actually got this the day before I posted it and assumed it would have already been posted. Sharing here was an afterthought. I was hesitant. Nervous. I've seen people shot down for all manner of things on here. I'm glad I was able to help even just one person find a bargain though. I've certainly got my share from everyone else.

No need to retract tomkun01. I'm a big boy and feel like I got off lightly. If anything I feel relieved. Posting this deal was kind of a big thing for me.
