Gliderol Stadium? Was there some sort of truck spill down your way? Who comes up for such laughable names for a football ground? No shame…

Major Sponsor - Gliderol roller doors.

  • For anyone else who has no idea where Gliderol Stadium is it's in Glenelg S.A.

    • Thanks Stirlo. I will edit add to make it clearer.

I played AFL 9's in summer last year and really enjoyed it, so suggest any ball sports people (heck I am a soccer player) give it a go. It's like a cross between touch football and AFL.

Hi pax, thanks for the plug. We have social soccer games every week at CBC gym on wakefield st in the city each week. Again sportivore.com.au has all the details and you can sign up to play. might see you down there sometime.

    • unlikely as I am in Sydney, but as this is your thread I won't plug where I played.

  • How much do you normally charge people to try out?

Our social sports games are generally between $5 - $15 depending on venue costs etc. We will be running a competition at Phos Camden on Anzac Highway from the 17th of October. Thanks

I would love to do this, do you form your own team? Or can you bring a friend or two along to play and then you join other peoples teams? Thanks.

Hey treeman, For the next 2 weeks you can come along with your mates and try it for nothing. We will put you in a team and get you familiar with it all over the next 2 weeks. Then the competition kicks off on the 17th of October and will run for 6 weeks. You can either enter your own team or we can put you in with a few other people. Hope to see you there!

      • What does it cost there after per person?

        • +1

It will be $10 per person per game. Thanks

        • @sportivore:

    Glenelg backwards is…GLENELG :-O

Yep. Which is why the one grammar test South Australians beat other states on is defining a palindrome.

I just made that up. Sounded better that it reads. Sorry.

Looks like all the 22 free spots for tomorrow night's games at Glenelg are taken? Edit - got it to work, Cheers for the post!

  • Turned up last night and it was only kids playing. What a waste of time!

    • Really that's crap! Was thinking about it.

    • Hi irate,

We had a game of 6 vs 6 adults (all over 25) at 6 pm going and it was lots of fun. Yes we did have a mixed game with 6 adults and 12 kids going at 5:30 however as it was only ever a 'come and try' experience it is very hard to know how many people are going to turn up and what ages they are going to be.

Thanks for coming down anyhow. Hopefully a few more adults turn up this friday and we can get a full 9 a side game going.
