Does anyone know if EziBuy is canceling the orders?

Referring to the $30 discount in EziBuy, I just noticed that when I login to my EziBuy account, I cannot find my order. I also did not heard anything from them after they said that they are 'processing' my order. I can see that some of the OzBargainers have received emails about picking up their orders, but cannot understand why this happened here.

Are they canceling these orders? :( At least they could have sent an email…

Update:

My order (with shipment) is now marked as shipped. My wife's one (click and collect) is marked as 'processing'. They charged the Paypal account with the agreed amount. I am still confused due to the different experiences of other OzBargainers as mentioned in the comments.

Update 2:

Just received another email from EziBuy saying that "we are not able to supply Order Number xx due to an issue we have encountered." This is very lame… :(

    Just recieved this:

    Dear —-,

You recently placed an order with EziBuy. Unfortunately we were unable to process your order as the promotional code you used was not valid against your customer number. You will be refunded in the manner which you originally paid. Please allow 5-7 working days for the credit to appear.

As the promotional code you used was not valid against your customer number, you may have accidently entered another customer's promotional code. Please double check your promotional code when placing your order again.

When EziBuy sends a promotional code to its customers, the code is linked specifically to a customer's identification number to make sure that it is only used by that customer and is not used by that customer more than once.

Sometimes our promotional codes are distributed by unauthorised websites or are otherwise sent to others in breach of our codes' terms and conditions. As a promotional code is only valid for use by the intended customer recipient, any attempt by another customer to use the code when placing an order with EziBuy will invalidate that order.

Please give us a call or visit our website if you would like to place your order again with us. We thank you for your understanding in this matter.

    Yours sincerely,

  • I just had delivered 1 of 2 orders , this one cost me $20 , the other one is a pickup from store and cost me $1.99 ,will be interesting to see if they honor the cheaper one.

Received the paypal refund notification yesterday, then the same BS cancellation email today…finally. I'll be following up on aldoboy's productreview link above; then like many others, I'll be glad to wash my hands of SleziBuy forever!

Slick move EziBuy, way to alienate a huge potential customer base over literally a few cents…36c in my case…although, given their response to initial customer queries already had some alarm bells ringing, my instincts are telling me we've all dodged a huge bullet with these guys! ;)

  • Got the same email from Ezibuy this morning. Oh well I put them in bad books such as Lenovo.

Maybe that's how they get your email address in their database and then spam you for promos.

Still confused why I paid $1.99 paypal but was refunded only $1.80?

    • open dispute

  • They cancel my order as well. Noting showing up in order history now.. Will not even buy anything from Ezibuy even if something they selling free…

EDIT: i'm not really bothered about it, since the reasoning was fair enough.

  • I got the same email too.. but probably glad that I dont have to go into the nearest Big W just to pick up a 30c Bangle or something. haha..

Pretty dodgy though this offer (dont think its the fault of the OP however).. Just dodgy and misleading marketing or they have figured out how much money they have lost on those iPad Keyboards.. hehe

  • I think it's against contract law.

Not sure if we should block this vendor here at ozbargain community.

HaHaha they are getting totally hosed at Product Review.
    http://www.productreview.com.au/p/ezibuy.html

  • The only order received was delivered directly to my house.

Other orders are marked as completed but I have not received any correspondence from them either cancelling the order or advising they are ready for collection.. Confused.

  • EziBuy Official:

Thank you for your feedback. We have encountered a problem with a recent promotion that was sent to specific customers which had terms and conditions attached. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we were forced to cancel some promotion codes. If you are a genuine original recipient we would welcome a call from to check your customer details and put the matter right. Freephone 1800 148 148

It's definitely a worry when they can't work out who the orginal recipients were.

    • +1

l'd like to know why l was not e-mailed the code anyway. Great way to keep your existing customers. I won't be shopping with them again and have asked them to delete my account.

I got the lame email today and my wife did too. I tried to do a live chat with them but they just pasted the already prepared excuses in there and when I started asking for more explanations they shut down the chat on me, which felt very rude. I then opened paypal disputes and got one refund already (mine), one still pending (wife's). I then wrote a review explaining the fiasco on productreview.com.au.

Next, I'm considering if I should complain to fairtrading or if I have a case to. I had an email from them which said the following:

    "Hi xxx,
Thanks for your order - you've made a great choice shopping with EziBuy. We're happy to advise that your order has now been processed. The following items will be dispatched shortly to your nominated collection point."

I had two items and both of them were showing "Available On". This confirmation that the order is now processed was sent to me the same day when I placed the order: 26/09/2014. Then, this morning I got an email saying "We cannot process your order". Hang on, I thought it was already processed (?)!!

I feel like I was lured in by the discount code to sign up and give my details for marketing purposes and then they conveniently kept my money for 2 or so weeks before cancelling the order and refunding it.

    • I feel like I was lured in by the discount code to sign up and give my details for marketing purposes and then they conveniently kept my money for 2 or so weeks before cancelling the order and refunding it.

Were you the original recipient of the promo code? If not, then you were not lured by Ezibuy. You were lured by ozbargain, which is not affiliated with Ezibuy. In addition, this deal was not advertised by Ezibuy on ozbargain.

      • Agreed, that is why I'm still tossing up and have not made a complaint. Although Ezibuy do not seem to have a way of identifying who were the original recipients of the code and lots of Ozbargainers got their orders too.

      • I can accept that the code might not have been intended for mass use, but is it really the customers fault for knowing what might/might not be alright? Maybe it was a marketing strategy to lure in customers. How am I to ever know if any code will work if they are not on top of their own system? Their excuse of "Due to circumstances beyond our control" is laughable for an online business.

        • Yes, this is what I think. While most of us would agree that it might be a genuine (rookie) error by Ezibuy. But if you look at the other side of the coin it could even be a scam to get people's details or lure in the masses.

        • but is it really the customers fault for knowing what might/might not be alright?

Just to be clear, I never said it was the customers fault. Ezibuy should definitely look into improving their system. But OP did say he got the code in his mailbox, if it was advertised on their website then it would be a diff story.

Maybe it was a marketing strategy to lure in customers

So their master plan all along was to hope everyone on their mailing list would share the code around 20 different bargain type websites/forum?

They probably actually wouldn't mind that, but the fact that it was shared around so many websites, plus people making 50 accounts for themselves so they can get 50 of those iPad covers to sell on ebay (these people are most likely will not be repeated regular customers)… Im not surprised with the outcome.

  • Cool. I didn't take the bait this time.

    • +2

      Still many got FREE stuff;-)
I got in early & got a Bluetooth keyboard & pillowcase I wanted, for $6.
Glad I took the bait this time.

      • +3

This iz ozbargain, if you get freebie, the company is king, if not, they are a dud. Either way, ezibuy loses one way or another, either financially, or reputationally.

Classic example of dammed if you do, dammed if you don't.

  • i got my Bluetooth keyboard and hat for $4, not complaining…:)

  • They are definitely cancelling orders. I asked for an explanation and they sent this:

Thank you for contacting us regarding the recent cancellation of your order.

To clarify the reason this order was cancelled is because we have identified that this order placed under your Customer ID details using a promotional code that we have reason to believe is not available to you.

Our records show that you are not the original recipient of this offer. As such, do not fit the criteria of our terms and conditions around the code use.

This is why your order was cancelled, I do apologise for any inconvenience caused by this.

  • +4

So who is the original recipient of this offer?

    • +3

The kicker is that Ezibuy actually do not know who the original recipients are :-)

A lot of Ozbargainers got their order processed and have collected their items already. While some of them may have received the code in email or mail catalogue, all of them who got their orders didn't! While a lot of people got their orders cancelled because they are supposedly not the original recipient of the offer (mine was cancelled after I got an email that it was successfully processed).

  • Presumably they at least "know" that any accounts created after the code was sent out are not the genuine recipients of the code. Are all those who got their orders peeps who already had accounts, before using the code? Or is it just kind of random?

    • -1

I created account soon after deal posted & received order.

Codes are limited in number, so the thousands of orders generated by many sites posting this code alerted them that code was being misused.

It's even possible people who did receive the code will also have their orders cancelled, until they prove they actually received it.

This has happened before on OzBargain in other deals for other businesses. As usual, ordering early is most likely way to get a bargain - before the site has time to realise what is happening.

  • They totally deserve the bad reviews. Done reviewed!

  • +2

I'm pissed that both I and SO received the catalogues, and just tossed without opening! Maybe we did get the code…

  • Cancelled as well.

  • cancelled,

time post on product review :)

  • They've responded on Product Review to say give them a call to discuss the issue . I can't be bothered if it's not going to get me anywhere - has anyone called in the last day or so and gotten a goodwill gesture out of them?

    • on Product Review report (just click) their comment as SPAM?

I am not a lawyer but I'm certain that the way you conducted business is in breach with the Australian Consumer law.

In your terms and conditions very specifically indicate that
"All orders are subject to acceptance by the supplier, and the supplier will confirm such acceptance by sending you an email that confirms that the product has been dispatched. The contract between the supplier and you will only be formed at that time.".

YOU, Ezibuy sent out a confirmation email of MY order being PROCESSED!!
YOU, Ezibuy told me that my items will be dispatched shortly to my nominated collection point.
YOU, Ezibuy collected my private information
YOU, Ezibuy are a big online company - and TRUST is nr.1 when it comes to online shopping.
YOU, Ezibuy claim that the distributed codes were valid for one customer only and this justifies mass selective cancellations as a lot of other customers had their orders filled.

YOU, Ezibuy lied to me!! In telling me that my has been accepted and processed and that my items would be dispatched.

In short if you send out confirmation emails you NEED to honour my order. YOUR system you should have picked up the error while ordering and not sending me an email AFTER ONE WEEK and cancelling my order.

Do you actually, know who the ORIGINAL recipient was??? The code was distributed on the internet for everyone to grab.
    Was a marketing strategy?

  • I paid 4AUD and refunded 0.59AUD
cant open the case on paypal due to some ridiculous reason.
from the Ezibuy receipt, that was 0.59AUD total, which I actually paid 4AUD (it was 4AUD total and somehow they sent me the receipt with 0.59AUD total.)

Picked up my order today without any issues. Perhaps because I already had an Ezibuy account they let it go through. Apart from a bath mat and reusable coffee mug it was just a couple of random crap items. Still a bargain for 3 dollars, but this whole incident was a massive fail for Ezibuy.

  • +1

Got a call today from Ezibuy telling me about how the order was cancelled and refunded ( I got the email a while back but I didn't bother chasing up) but wait for it, surprise surprise, Ezibuy said they will send the order to me completely free!!! Yay!

  • Anyone else get an email today from ezibuy advising that they're now honouring the order? Twas quite an interesting one! Interestingly I had 2 orders rejected (1 with the $20 code, another with the $30) and thus far they've only reinstated one of them.

They're now posting it to me for free (vs click & collect) and aren't charging me at all for the order (because they've already refunded me). Kudos to them if they've heard my complaints via many channels and have responded appropriately.

    • +1

Yes, I've had my order with one of the vouchers reinstated. Received shipping info (Auspost) this evening.

    • Are they honouring the order with $20 code in your case?
They did not reinstate my order using $30 code.

  • -1

I just got a call from Ezibuy and they have sent me my order for FREE. How good is that.

    • Good for us. Not good for them. They are spending extra money to make good on the orders but is their reputation already tarnished beyond repair???

For example, do you think the 40 people who left 1 star reviews on Product Review would go and remove their review?

    • they haven't emailed or called me? I was a new sign up and used the $30 code. might email them tomorrow.

  • i didn't get any mails from them reinstating the order :(

    • +4

I spoke to them on live chat the other day, she said they are getting around to sending the emails to all affected

      • +1

        thnx 4 the info nubzy

      • Interesting, thanks nubzy.

      • +2

I think they just wanted us to stop posting negative and bad reviews of them on product reviews website.

  • +1

Has anyone heard anything recently? I think they have abandoned us.

    • +1

Nope. Suggest we all send emails, they told me in chat they would get around to contacting everyone.

  • +1

i had a live chat with them on thursday and gave my order number. They told that i have used the coupon which was not meant for my email id and they cant help me with it. Then they took my number and told that a supervisor will call me reg the same. She spoke to me and told the same lame thing and told sorry cant do anything about it.
