Does anyone know if EziBuy is canceling the orders?

Referring to the $30 discount in EziBuy, I just noticed that when I login to my EziBuy account, I cannot find my order. I also did not heard anything from them after they said that they are 'processing' my order. I can see that some of the OzBargainers have received emails about picking up their orders, but cannot understand why this happened here.

Are they canceling these orders? :( At least they could have sent an email…

Update:

My order (with shipment) is now marked as shipped. My wife's one (click and collect) is marked as 'processing'. They charged the Paypal account with the agreed amount. I am still confused due to the different experiences of other OzBargainers as mentioned in the comments.

Update 2:

Just received another email from EziBuy saying that "we are not able to supply Order Number xx due to an issue we have encountered." This is very lame… :(

    • Yes my order history times out and redirects.
Dont hold any hope of getting anything now.

      • Well the purchase authorization on my cc has turned into a credit purchase but I haven't received a shipping notice yet & now no Order History too.

  • Just got emailed:

"Unfortunately, we are not able to supply order number 20XXXXXXXX04 due to an issue we have encountered.

Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience or disappointment this may cause.

A credit of $1.80 has been processed back to your original payment method as reimbursement for this order."

  • Got an email for click and collect..no cancellation email…

  • Live chat :
    Received:
Hi my name is Melanie, one moment please
    Received:
I am sorry the website is having some technical difficulty right now, we aren't sure of what the problem is at this stage and have contacted out IT department to report this issue.
    Received:
I have looked into the order however and it seems that it has been cancelled as you were not the original recipient of the promotional code used in the order

    :(

  • I ordered ~7:15am Friday, it got shipped the same day to my click and collect
store. Tracking info by Toll said it arrived at my home address (yeah wtf but i assume
that meant it was at the store) and order history said complete.
I am waiting for email to come and collect it, but seems my order has disappeared
and signs from everyone else not looking good :/

    • +1

I cant believe they would ship items out to a store and then have then returned.
That would cost way more in labor and transport than ~ $30 per parcel.
It seems they REALLY don't want to fulfill these orders.

      • +1

Yeah that's my thinking aswell, seems a lot of trouble and expense
just to cancel it later. Maybe the damage control they are in makes them
think "we better cancel them all". But if just one person gets their order,
the rest of us will feel hard done by.

        • +5

I would have thought that the sum total of the labor and transport costs plus the negative goodwill generated would far outweigh fulfilling the orders and creating a positive impact.
I bet most people here would avoid Ezibuy after this episode.

          Spot on.

          @King Tightarse:
I would have considered it "advertising" and taken any hit out of the ad budget.
They got me to recognise them by this "deal". They are one of many stores with
the same products around the same price. I doubt I will take a stab at them again,
even with any "promo codes" if they don't pony up.

        • +1

          @topstuff:
Yes that would have been much better for the image of the business.
It's like some junior manager is running around determined not to let a single order out "on his watch", blind to the overall effect.

        • +1

I will not believe in their coupon codes or offers again… I would have felt better if they said the true thing in their cancellation email, rather than the garbage words they put in their lame excuse.

        • @webtonmoy: Just reply to their email and ask them to clarify what they mean by "an issue we have encountered".

  • When i go to my order history - it shows this :

You may have used an expired link or typed the address incorrectly. Please ensure spelling, capitalisation and punctuation are correct and try again.

Alternatively, the page address may have changed or is temporarily unavailable.

We will redirect you automatically to our home page in 2 seconds.

    • I get that message too. Didn't receive any cancellation email or pickup email. Not looking good

I hate it how when a customer makes a mistake (say purchase of an overpriced product) he or she is screwed, yet when a business makes a mistake they can adjust it as they please.

    • Buy stuff frompplaces with a no questions asked policy refund. So you can make the adjustment.

I placed some orders and got confirmation emails. One got cancelled but I feel sorry for whoever liable for handing out free vouchers as they do not expect the response from online community. Hope that will learn from this.

  • I put in two orders. First one I accidentally submitted the order without applying the discount code and ended up paying full price. Second order was made using the discount code. I contacted them straight after I put in my first order to have it cancelled. and was told I could not cancel my order. I was fine with that (one paying full price and another one with a $30 discount). But now they have cancelled my second order. I am extremely unhappy with this!

    • You should be able to cancel your first order, consumer rights and all that.

      • I was told that the ordering process was completed instantly and they could do nothing to stop and cancel it! And the only way I can do now is to pay a postage fee to return the product and get a refund. But how can they justify they could stop my second order but not my first one? Not happy! :(

        • +1

Really? You should contact them and explain how stupid they sound.
If the ordering process is instant and nothing they can do to stop it, how did the 2nd order get stopped?
Tell them that you are reporting their scam to fair trading.

        • +1

          @Cardz:

Calling it a scam won't help, considering we are all trying to buy $30 worth of stuff for almost nothing.

        • +1

          @cloudy:

Read the context of sydo complaint. He is not upset about his 2nd order getting cancelled, its about the fact he cannot cancel his first order.

Thats a scam and is illegal by Australia law. There is a way to cancel as they are showing us, they wont cancel an order where they are making full money from!

He has no confirmation its shipping. Its so wrong on many sides..

        • +1

          @Cardz:

Sorry I'm not a lawyer, but I didn't know it's Australian law to allow a placed and paid for order to be cancelled. Would u mind pointing out which legislation it's in?

Either way, as per my previous post, I think it's more practical to calmly speak to ezibuy and explain the situation. Jumping up and down calling them scammers probably isn't a effective problem solving technique.

        • @cloudy:
Where did I say you should jump up and down and call them scammers.
I said they were doing a scam action but yes I always agree to politely ask them first, and only then if not satisfied tell them you are not happy and will be lodging a complaint.

Jumping up and calling them scammers is definitely a last resort when others have failed. Not that I recommend this, I would just tell them they are stupid and lodge a complaint with fair trading.

So you think the vendor has right to cancel an order thats placed and paid but not the customer? I aint going to read the whole fair trading act but as the order was not processed or accepted it does not make sense that one side has the right to cancel and not the other.

Edit: Here I found the law
          Page 128
          http://www.legislation.vic.gov.au/Domino/Web_Notes/LDMS/LTObject_Store/LTObjSt2.nsf/DDE300B846EED9C7CA257616000A3571/2E63A649D6018697CA257761001FB75D/$FILE/99-16a044.pdf

It says you have 10 days cooling off period.

    • +1

You call them up and explain the 2 orders are essentially all 1 order, given the promixty of time they were all bought, and that you were sent this code and tried to genuinely use it by buying up to $60 worth of goods and now, it seems like a minor mistake has been made.

It would be totally unfair to just pay for order 1.

  • Just received email….

Your Click & Collect order (801xxxxxxxxx) is ready for collection at BIG W XXXXX.

So it maybe related to the products ordered? Or First time ordering?

    • Plot thickens, and who knows why some are being accepted and others not.

    • I'm thinking the same thing, coz as I said, my order is ready for me to collect too.

  • +2

I'm pretty sure it's related to the products ordered and not EziBuy cancelling orders due to misuse of promo code. Almost everyone's cancellation emails says refund of $1.80 so I'm assuming most of you ordered the same items.

I haven't got a cancellation email yet, but nor have I got a shipping confirmation. Paypal status shows up as completed.

    • Haven't got any communication either, maybe it will go through, I got the teapot and abella pot

    • +1

TA did provide suggestions, which seemed like everyone jumped on. And they probably didn't expect 5000 teapots to sell in a day?

    • I'm pretty sure it's related to the products ordered and not EziBuy cancelling orders due to misuse of promo code

Actually probably both, it's just that the teapots like Cloudy says were the ones suggested and Ezibuy looked at these type of orders plus the code and said - ah ha!!

I ordered items that others probably didn't and also items that could be picked up (ie in Australia) rather than those requiring shipping to my home address

  • +2

    Mine also cancelled. Definitely disappointing

Lame excuse (code was targeted). If it was targeted why would we be able to use it? Will lodging a formal complaint through Woolworths

    • +2

I've sent my formal complaint in, suggest everyone should do the same.

      • +1

Sorry to ask silly question, but how do we do this? The live chat people certainly couldn't care less.

        • I'd want to know that too please!

  • A few of us ordered in my house, and we haven't received an email saying to pick up anything.

I just got an email cancelling my order :( I ordered the 'Eco reusable coffee cup' and a 'Nordic pillow'. So I will be getting a $2 refund….
    pretty disappointing.

  • +1

Anyone who urgently wants their $0.99 back, you can go live chat and vent out. You will get your refund straight away otherwise they will process it 5-7 working days

  • +9

I ordered a doona cover which came to $8 - now refunded. If it was a stock issue, i would have liked the opportunity to choose something else.

I'm their prime demographic - female, age 30-40, frequent online shopper . They should have been doing cartwheels that I deigned to even look at their website let alone buy something .

    Bad move Ezibuy.

  • Interesting. I've received no email from them cancelling my order, or advising ready to collect, but today they have successfully charged my PayPal account with two additional small amounts. What gives? I thought you needed to authorise payments with PayPal? And this mean I'm getting my orders or not?

    • They charged my Paypal account, then cancelled the order and provided a refund. Hope you will have better luck…

  • +1

Had a live chat and they stated "there is a block for future orders to be check for promotions before completing" and "if you place a order it will be checked for promotional code abuse before it is processed"

    • So whether you get your order or not depends on how slack or not the packer is…

  • +6

not impressed with their customer service and attitude, will be writing a negative review on productreview

I picked up our orders successfully!
We placed our orders pretty early, maybe just after the deal was posted. (we did not create any fake accounts, both under our true names in one household.)
And obviously we did not receive the discount coupon originally.
We mainly chose items from CLEARANCE category. Used same Paypal account to pay for them.
Got a confirmation on that night and a shipping confirmation the following day.
Today we got "ready for pick up" emails, so I went to pick them up before they change their minds.
(Apparently lots of orders were picked up at BigW @ Chermside QLD.)
So, it was a flawless transaction for us.
    Thank you very much, OP.

    • Not sure by what you mean with fake accounts

      • Someone mentioned their accounts were merged into one just because they live at the same address and have same surname. We did NOT change any of our details to look like we are not related. That's what I mean:)

  • +1

I think they are confident we can't do anything legally because they are based in NZ, so they couldn't care less by cancelling the orders

  • I ordered two things. One was out of stock and cancelled. The other, a filler bangle was complete and on the way to my nominated Woolworths for pickup. :(

    • Why :(?

I'm guessing u ordered the bangle to get over $30 for a freebie? And now all u get is a bangle?

      Be happy :)

  • All of my orders are being honoured :) First order was from the previous code, total $1 paid, collected already. Second order from this code, $1 paid, one item being on backorder till early October (2 items total). Received a ready to be collected email a couple of days ago for item thats available. Both orders made on same account with legit details, not fake or dupe accounts. Woop!

  • I haven't got anything since they took the money out of my credit card. It's only 74c for me, but surely they still have to refund?

    • +2

      Just used live chat

"Yes I can confirm your order has been cancelled due to a code you were not entitled to being used in the order, you will be refunded in the manner which you originally paid and allow 5-7 working days for the credit to appear."

I'm perfectly happy with this. Better than the hassle of picking up 2 useless bangles and no speaker anyway. Will I be using Ezibuy again? Depends on what they're selling.

Wish companies would put checks and balances for their promotion codes into their systems and give meaningful error messages. Not providing the discount is fair enough. Doing it in this manner is bungling.

  • Just a heads up for people whose orders went through and going to collect on behalf of someone else (Garden City store):
I got emails from Ezibuy yesterday, one for me, one for my dad, so I went to pick it up after work. The lady couldn't give me both the orders because my dad wasn't with me even though I had the order receipt. She said she needed the actual person to pickup, with proof of ID, she cant give me the order even if I bring my dad's ID with me to pickup.

    • +1

      Went to Parramatta Wooles…

Picked up a few orders with different names no issues, I just gave them a print out of the pickup barcode

  • Picked up both by orders.

    However I spent $9 & $15 respectively. Not $1.80.

  • +3

I have not received any information whatsoever? nothing about cancellations or shipped order. Combined with the shoddy website that has refused to provide order history for 2 days and general attitude of the staff if they do not come through on this deal they will be getting a negative review on productreview

  • +1

The live chat person tells me that my order was cancelled due to fraudulent use of the code. The conditions apparently state it was valid for original recipient only. Apparently it was intended for people who signed up in July, not September. However as yet, no email to tell me order was cancelled. Never again, Ezibuy.

  • +4

Just had an online chat with them and then spoke to their call centre (because the online chat guy gave up on me), as everyone now knows they are refusing to honour the code for a huge stack of people sayinig that the code was not meant for them 'as per the terms and conditions of the code'. I asked where these mysterious terms and conditions are and got no response.
I did put a complaint in - stating that if a code is able to be applied and an order confirmed then in my mind that finalises it, will see if I ever get a response though I doubt it. They also told me that it could take 1-2 weeks for the refund to be processed & I added this to my complaint - if they can take it out in 2 hours, they can put it back in 2 hours.

(Did point out to them too that their very own words on my confirmation email were ""Please note that your order has now been finalised and no changes can be made at this point." It seems to me that they breached their own terms and conditions in cancelling the order - this is a 'change' is it not?)

    • I did put a complaint in - stating that if a code is able to be applied and an order confirmed then in my mind that finalises it

And that's also the legal position. Pressing the button to finalise/complete your order is treated by law as an electronic signature, marking the creation of a contract between the seller and the buyer. And once that has happened, the general rule is that parties are not permitted to cancel the contract at their whim.

  • My order finally got cancelled yesterday. Awaiting refund

  • I have an order that was shipped but have not have a pickup email are they also cancelling the orders that where shipped
Or have people been able to pick some up?

My order history has now gone redirects back to home page

    Thanks

  • +3

I got it, went to pick it up yesterday, paid $2 for water bottles

  • +2

And that is how they collect our details for marketing purposes. I am also receiving cancellation email. Bad company !

  • +1

Didnt get any cancellation email, but i got 2 refunds from paypal - $ 5 and $4 i had ordered something else apart from ipad keyboard +bangle and the like.

No email from ezibuy @ all, thats bad atleast they can send an email informing the reason. Anyways. Has it been 5 -7 days already since the deal was first posted? Sheesh time is flying.

  • Mine got cancelled this morning, so they haven't finished cancelling orders.

  • +6

    Massive marketing fail IMHO.
I saw this and ordered because it was on Ozbargain, a "good deals" site. I did not attempt to diddle any codes, I never would. That's why I and 99.9% of us used it. Labelling us all as "intentional misusers of codes" or whatever is so fcking rude to all of their potential customers and just plain wrong.
My wife is really pissed at them and will never ever use their site now. A top she wanted was cancelled and she is the kind of person who would be smack bang in the middle of their "ideal customer" demographic. She would have repeat ordered. Now she never will.
She walks away from this promotion hating their company. So stupid.

    • +2

Yep it is very poorly handled. It is their stuff up. They got a new subscriber to their site who spent time browsing their products and making an order, stock was confirmed, and now it looks like the order will be cancelled and they get alot of bad publicity. And then we have Supercheap auto more than happy to hand out $20 credit and free items, at least they know how to do a promotion.

      • Didn't get any free credits :(

    • +2

saw this and ordered because it was on Ozbargain, a "good deals" site.

The deal wasn't posted by REP of Ezibuy…

I did not attempt to diddle any codes, I never would. That's why I and 99.9% of us used it. Labelling us all as "intentional misusers of codes" or whatever is so fcking rude to all of their potential customers and just plain wrong.

While you may not have diddled round the codes or intentionally misuse the code, there are plenty of people (at least a couple who have admited here) who created multiple accounts for themselves, some even made 4 accounts, to get (almost) free stuff. If this isn't abusing the code, I dont know what it is.

I think a large majority of "potential customers" here won't actually be future customers regardless whether they honoured the code or not. From what I see, most people only bought stuff because the total price was only a couple dollars. These people wouldn't purchase again unless they had another $20/$30 voucher. Of course everyones gonna say they were Ezibuys perfect type of customer and would've spend $10000 with them ….cough cough

The stuff Ezibuy stocks seem to be exactly the same as Bigw, including sale prices btw.

      • "The deal wasn't posted by REP of Ezibuy"
That is not something I would even particularly notice.
If the codes were not a part of a general promotional drive, they should have used unique codes, like any sensible business.
In my case, I am an Ozbargainer but my wife is a free-spending shopping lover (dont I know it). Anyway, she would quite definitely have repeat-shopped. She hates them now as she had already worked out the outfits her new top would go with.
Once the code was doing the rounds of the voucher sites, insulting all their potential customers with the retraction email is just plain stupid. It is the opposite of positive advertising and many will walk away with a fck them, never again attitude.
Oh and I have to buy her a new top to make up for it because it is my "fault" Appartently bold stripes are a must have this spring :P

  • they took my money but haven't cancelled my order yet

    • They are still cancelling orders my wife's order was cancelled 10 mins ago , mine was shipped but no pick up email both ordered at about the same time early in the deal

  • Looks like they cancelled orders from 26/9. I got orders placed on 24 and 25/9.

    • no i dont think so because i got a refund pay from paypal yesterday , i ordered on the 25th, jus after i saw this deal on ozbargain.

  • +1

I think the cancellations are mostly stock issues, which explains why early orders came through. I ordered for myself and SO; SO got cancellation 'issue' email for his main item couple of days ago, I've heard nothing yet about mine. But we both got emails yesterday to say that our 'filler' confectionary had been shipped. Why send a part order if you're cancelling due to voucher abuse?

  • I'm kind of in limbo at the moment - one order has been dispatched for a week now but no further news about that order (will probably be cancelled?) or my sister's order either. Money not refunded yet. Sigh.

  • +1

No confirmation for pick up or cancellation whatsoever……

  • I placed my order last Thursday, got an email on Friday to say it had been shipped. Then at some point my order dropped off my order history like so many others. I emailed them 2 days ago but got no response. Today I received an SMS and an email to say my order is ready to be collected from Big W. But given how random Ezibuy (+1 for the name) are I won't believe it's for real until I actually pick my stuff up.

    • Hey you may be lucky, get a bonus 6 months when they have the law waiting for you when you pick up….. LOL

  • i got a mail from ezibuy stating that all my orders are cancelled due to fraud use of the code, thats bad.. Spent an hour choosing the products. :(

  • Got a refund, no order cancellation. Fail, Ezibuy..

  • Went and picked up my order and when I signed I could see one person with 10 different orders and a few with multi orders, one family had a full page just with different first names . The lady ask what was going on was there a big sale on the ezibuy web site as she has never had this many orders in one delivery batch !
