Does anyone know if EziBuy is canceling the orders?

Referring to the $30 discount in EziBuy, I just noticed that when I login to my EziBuy account, I cannot find my order. I also did not heard anything from them after they said that they are 'processing' my order. I can see that some of the OzBargainers have received emails about picking up their orders, but cannot understand why this happened here.

Are they canceling these orders? :( At least they could have sent an email…

Update:

My order (with shipment) is now marked as shipped. My wife's one (click and collect) is marked as 'processing'. They charged the Paypal account with the agreed amount. I am still confused due to the different experiences of other OzBargainers as mentioned in the comments.

Update 2:

Just received another email from EziBuy saying that "we are not able to supply Order Number xx due to an issue we have encountered." This is very lame… :(

I just got a shipment confirmation (from warehouse to Big W). I checked under my account and it says I have no orders too. I think this may be a glitch in their system?

    • Great, wish you will get your item :)

I did not get any confirmation email…. and no order showing in my account..

  • +1

when i log in my ezibuy account, it shows 1 order being processed.

    • +1

oops just checked again, order is no more existing. i checked the order 2 days back and it was there!

      • That's what happen to mine :(

  • Can they just cancel orders without letting the customers know?

  • It would not be good business sense to cancel some orders and let others go through, especially if they were confirmed. fair enough if there was something out of stock though. I signed up specifically for this deal and I imagine many others did too, so fingers crossed we get out orders and everyone is happy.

    • +1

To be fair, it'snot good business to sell a pair of jeans for $2, lol , that's my order. So if they do cancel, I'm not surprised. This deal was ozbargained. Too many people buying loads of stuff for a buck or two.

  • I also received notification that it has been processed.

I checked my Visa card statement for my order of $38, and it shows $8. No further transactions

    Thats all I can add…

    • 3 days ago my Mastercard debit card linked to bank account statement showed i was charged in full for my orders apart from the two $3 face cloths that i had ordered. If they are cancelling orders i hope they refund us our money. It wouldn't be fair if they just kept the money.

      • It wouldn't be fair if they just kept the money.

That would be more than just unfair. It would be illegal to keep the money. I called to cancel my order yesterday and was told:

Our normal process is to refund within 5-7 working days of an order coming back through our returns process.

Probably just system maintenance - it's Sunday night. Check again in morning.

My order was visible 2 hours ago. Got shipping email with tracking number for delivery. But now can't see order.

    • Order has reappeared. Was just system maintenance / account maintenance.

  • +1

Hope Bruce is correct as per above.
My orders have gone awol too. I doubt they would be stupid enough to cancel and create a "fiasco". The entire purpose of a promotion such as this is well, to promote . To generate exposure and goodwill for the business.

    • How could you doubt me ;-)

  • +1

I can confirm that they are merging all accounts with the same name and addresses into 1 account, without any notice. I think their system is down so that they can update their database and maybe add some security measures in place to prevent people from creating multiple accounts under the same name.
If you have received an email to confirm that your item has been shipped, you are still going to have to wait until you receive either an email or text before you can pick up the item. The ezibuy order number is different from the Big W pickup order number.

Edit: Not affiliated to Ezibuy. Had a chat with the customer rep this morning.

    • +1

As i said i've never heard of another retailing forcing a merge of multiple accounts into the one. Doesn't sound like some thing that will be a popular move with customers.

      • Iherb does it. Well actually, Iherb deactivates one of the accounts but they do send you a polite email to let you know.

    • Someone mentioned their wife and their accounts were merged due to same address and surname. So what about families with three children all joined up? Same surname/address? Where is the line whereby you are allowed your own account? Cousins?
That is freaking ridiculous without prior contact and agreement.

      • +1

The whole family at an address forced into the one single account. Now there's a silly idea. Wonder who came up with the stupid idea of merging accounts on the basis of surname and address.

      • +1

That someone was me. Same address, same last name and I used her mobile number when I registered.I never give my work mobile number for non-work related services.
I wonder what the T&Cs for the voucher were. One use per household?

        • Nope said nothing about one per household. It said per customer. Each account could be seen as a customer. Customer really means person making a payment for a product in a transaction from a business who may also get after sales support.

The $30 discount code was part of the summer 30 off promotion of which the T&C can be seen on this web page: https://www.ezibuy.com.au/summer-30-off

        • @hollykryten: I should mention that once I explained the situation, they apologised and said they would unlink the accounts.
However, I don't think they would be cancelling orders. On what grounds?
unless of course, some people have created more than one accounts just to be able to broaden the deal, then they might cancel 1 or more or all of the orders of that person, especially if the T&Cs said one use per customer.

        • Right.

        • @Jar Jar Binks:

Then again the T&C did not say one use per person. Where is it defined that customer is limited to only one account. Customer means a purchaser of goods. Each account can be seen as a customer no matter if it has the same surname etc since they are purchasing goods using the account.

I think Ezibuy really needs to brush up on what customer really means. A person could have multiple accounts with a business and each of the purchases using each particular account is deemed a customer since it's a purchase. Basically account + purchase = customer. Another account + purchase = another customer.

"A customer is someone who buys something, especially from a shop."

          http://www.thefreedictionary.com/customer

Ezibuy should have better worded the T&C to say one use per account if they didn't want multiple accounts being used. And then it would have been a good idea for them to issue unique discount codes tied to user accounts that can only ever be used once. Ezibuy only has themselves to blaim.

Maybe next time they will issue unique codes tied to accounts like what the likes of JB Hi-Fi online does. Wonder if that's what tonight's possible system maintenance is partly about.

        • @hollykryten:lol How many orders did you put through using that $30 voucher? :-)

Anyway, its all mere speculation at this point. They might not cancel any orders, even for broadeners. I think they start taking calls or live chat at 9.00 a.m , so we'll find out soon enough what's happening.

        • -4

          @Jar Jar Binks:

4 orders all of which were completed and one already shipped off from Ezibuy International.

        • @Jar Jar Binks:

          We'll see in the morning.

        • @Jar Jar Binks:

If they do cancel orders on the grounds of multiple accounts then it would be against their own T&C since it does not say one use per person. And as i said customer means a purchaser which is what each account does so the account is customer. There would be a lot of people not impressed if they cancel orders especially when the T&C said nothing about being limited to one use per account. Account = customer.

Don't let Ezibuy or anyone else fool you into thinking that customer is a person only. Customer is whoever makes a purchase using any account.

        • +2

          @hollykryten:

So you could make 1000 accounts, for your dog's, cats, dead relatives, fishes and wherever animal you have, and it would be fair, moral and legal…because the t&c didn't specifically say one per living human being?

        • +1

          @hollykryten:

Don't let Ezibuy or anyone else fool you into thinking that customer is a person only. Customer is whoever makes a purchase using any account.

This is hilarious..Common assumption is that only living human being is considered as customer and not any dead humans or animals or cars or trees or insects…

  • I hope they do not charge my Paypal account more than what I agreed to. It would be worse that canceling the orders. Can they do it, actually?

    • +1

I doubt it they can't simply charge you more than you were invoiced for. And even if they did it would be a PR disaster. Look at how many clicks the $30 voucher thread got over 8000 clicks. That's potentially 8000 disgruntled people.

      • +1

Actually if they were all like you , that could possibly be , 8000 X 4 = 36,000 orders!!! No wonder they are now cancelling all orders that have not yet been shipped, indiscriminately of whether we have only used the code once or multiple times.
        Now that's unfair!

        • 8000 x 4=32000

        • @rapoot6: Thanks :-)

  • I just noticed that they have charged my Paypal account by the agreed amount. So I hope they will honor the agreement…

  • Panic over as I guessed…
My order has reappeared. Had suggested to check in the morning.

Was just system / account maintenance. Unlikely they could combine accounts and keep the account system live.

This has been an expensive deal (cost of IT work on top of thousands of $30 discounts) for Ezibuy.

EziBuy seems to be having a lot of issues that they've encountered going by all these "not able to supply order due to an issue" emails coming in from peoples. Sounds almost like a smokescreen for an excuse to cancel orders.

I have mixed feelings about these experiences.

First, I feel sympathy for EziBuy, as if they honor it, they will require to swallow millions of dollars. Also 'probably' their intension was to supply coupon code to specific customers, not everyone. But they made it generic by some 'mistake'.

On the other hand, it is their mistake. They had every information to make the code applicable to specific customers only. They were checking if the same person was applying this code twice, so in the same way they could easily check if the person using the code was in fact the targeted customer that received their code via email. People like me spent their hours and will feel outraged if they deny it now.

What if, in future, some rouge company want to exploit such deniability to collect user information (email, address, phone no) is mass? They can post generic codes like these, get details of thousands of customers, verified by Paypal/Credit card, then reimburse the money and get those information for free? I do not think EziBuy is doing so, but my experience as a computer engineer made me very suspicious around the security issues of online activities.

    • +1

Millions of dollars is a bit of an exaggeration. That would require maybe 33,500 orders at the $30 to reach the million dollar mark. I doubt they'd have enough stock to fulfill tons of thousands of orders all at once.

      • +1

It was symbolic, and probably exaggeration.. Still, no doubt, a big amount of money, isn't it… But no worries, as we have learnt, they are going to cancel 'most' of the orders…

  • I got an email this morning saying my order was cancelled with no reason given.

  • Mine says "Completed". I have no idea what that means - they should have a description somewhere.
It indicates a total of $0.00 and my Paypal is still in pending, so I'll bet it's in the course of being cancelled.

    • What do each item in order show?

Completed seems to indicate the paperwork has been completed. Mine showed Completed, but each item was still Processing.

After those items changed to Shipped, it still showed order Completed. I received a shipping email hours later.

      • All mine went from completed to shipped this morning. I must be one of the lucky one's. I did pay directly via credit card if that makes any difference.

        • Reading the entrails to discover the mysteries of a deal… mine was PayPal. Shipped this morning.

      • Opening the order shows an empty list. :-/

        • Seems you have been "Completed" :-(

        • @brucefromaustralia:
It now shows an error. I contacted them - apparently it was a targeted offer and mine was cancelled.

  • Got an email from them today saying that my items will be shipped to my requested click and collect place.

    Hi XXXX EziBuy Limited

We are pleased to advise that your order from EziBuy has been dispatched. The details of this order are outlined below.

    Shipped Date: 28/09/14 28/09/14

    • +1

Got a text saying that my order is ready to be picked up. Need photo ID and proof of purchase to pick up.

  • Two orders marked as completed, no emails or SMSes to collect :S

    • But are the items within orders finished processing yet? No email until a few hours after that has completely completed.

      • It just says completed.
When I click on view details there is no any other status under the item, just item name, date and amount.

  • I don't know why, some people are receiving their products, but mine is cancelled.. :(

  • mine is still processing. I can see my order in my account

  • They are cancelling all orders that have not been shipped already. The reason , I've been told, is "promotional code misuse", since we were not the original recipient of that voucher.

    • Where did you find this? That's BS if they ship some orders already. They already confirmed items were in stock and completed my order. They will lose a lot of customers and reputation if they do this.

      • I'd say they've already started with this "not able to supply" "due to an issue we've encountered" emails. I'd say the issue is that they failed to account lock the voucher code and now they don't want to honour most orders which is my theory.

      • @nubzy: I had a chat with one of the customer rep on live chat. They've also said that order 'completed' does not necessarily means that your order has been shipped. It only means that this order has reached the end of its life cycle. So it could either mean that your order has been shipped (if that is the case, you should receive an email that says your order has been shipped) or that your order has been cancelled. my wife's order shows as 'order completed' but she was sent an email saying that they could not supply her order because of "an issue".
I had a chat with a customer rep via live chat which was when I was told that all orders that have not yet been shipped will be cancelled , regardless of whether you've used the code once or multiple times since the code was intended for someone else.

        • I wonder why they don't just list the cancelled orders as "Cancelled" instead of Completed & Shipped. This confusion just causes them to receive more calls and chats.

        • @jdf:who knows? The emails they've sent are very strangely worded too, very vague. Maybe something dodgy is going on? Maybe they just don't want this to affect their KPIs? or they are not legally allowed to cancel the orders?

    • -7

jar jar binks is a troll. Ignore!

  • I wish they'd cancel my 2 crappy bangles for $0.72.

    • lol

    • @syousef, did they send you an item shipped email yet?

      • Nope

    • lol. they cancelled my crappy ear shaped iphone cover, so they might do the same for you :) i received an email stating the code was meant only for the original customer who received it.

  • Just received my cancellation email also, lame…

  • +4

It's not as if OzBargainers have not seen this type of code fiasco before.

eg Woolworths 2 x $10 off $50 codes, ie 40% off groceries & subsequent backlash forum calling for boycott

Someone finds a code allegedly not meant for general circulation, posts it, other sites copy OzBargain, or OzBargain copies another site… and there is code frenzy.

Those who buy early get the good deal (sometimes many good deals). Those ordering late get the thrill of the bargain, followed by the let down of the cancellation email :-(

In the Woolies code deal, many who ordered late blamed those who ordered early for being greedy (without any proof, & besides multiple sites listed the deal with 1 predating the OzBargain deal), and that's why they missed out (not because they were late)!

Just Google the code acq4g2ac & see all the other sites promoting it…
    eg
    Ezibuy - $30 off $30+ Spend (with code) + Free Click & …

    Ezibuy iPad 蓝牙键盘+ Bangle $3 - $打折优惠- 澳洲通- 澳洲华人黄页 …
    etc
And the voucher sites like https://www.ozvoucher.com.au/store/ezibuy.com.au/

There were many more ordering than just our 8300 clicks!

      • +1

Ah or Cats out of the bag. ;) as neil put it. Just one of the sites listing this EziBuy code.

    • +3

This is why you don't have untrained computer programmers on your team. It is not difficult to do coupon codes right. The first thing they should do is fire their programmer. The next thing they should do is hire a security company to investigate what other kindergarten level flaws in the website and computer systems. Until they do, we cannot trust this company with our data. We need to get them to expunge our details from their system.

  • -1

Just received shipping confirmation emails for 3 of 4 orders. I must be so lucky.

    • +1

I settled for just 1 order. I might have placed a second order, but nothing on the site interested me. How do I resign my OzBargain membership?

      • I couldn't help myself i love a good bargain. This is Ozbargain after all. There were a few reasonable shirts at the right size.

I learned from mistakenly not taking advantage of the Big W online 75% off blu-ray ordeal around christmas/new years last year not to miss opportunities for a bargain. I assumed that they Big W would just cancel all the orders back then any way and would have buckle's chance and i was mistaken. Not making the same mistake again.

        • Gave up on this deal by 19:30 Thursday! I'd just stocked up on clothes at the Iconic sale ($400 for $30 with ING code), and have little need for anything else. I'd rather be travelling & eating. Let other people feast instead.

  • My order was cancelled and just rec'd confirmation from paypal that money has been refunded.

  • I have just got refund from Paypal without any notice from Ezibuy :(. I check my order history in Ezibuy and it was marked as Completed.

  • They are all getting cancelled unless they shipped it really early on.

    • I think it seems the more earlier on the orders were made the better chance of shipment. I made all of my orders very early on before 8pm on Thursday.

      • And ordered what was in stock, rather than what everyone else was ordering.
        Mine was shipped this morning.

        • I ordered a few of the Face Cloths in orders that curiously was showing as in stock when i ordered them. But it seems the ordering system was taking orders for the item that wasn't even really in stock. Every thing else shipped apart from the face cloths. Shrugs.

  • I haven't received any cancellation email. Maybe they will let the orders made with new accounts who didn't abuse the coupon go through?? still thought a shipping confirmation would have come by now.

    • I think they are just letting orders with new accounts through and one's from old accounts maybe not.

  • Just had my orders cancelled. I'm pissed with ezibuy!!

  • You can always express yourself in their review section.
The "Wardrobe" tab next to your order goes straight to reviews for each item.

  • Is anyone able to go into their Order History today? Or is their maintenance on again?
