      Keep in mind that it's only valid for selected items as Snappy mentioned earlier.

      There's a 15% off floating around here that expires on 1/10 that seems to have less restrictions as I could apply it on the saltwater sandals brand.

    I really need to look at getting an Amex.

    Always seeing Amex issued only deals that I could take advantage of.

    Does anyone know if you have to have a Platinum (or equivalent) card, or if you can take advantage with a free Amex (if one exists)?

    Just remember you have to spend $100 on the AMEX if you want to get the $30 statement credit, so the total amount must be $125. So if your total is $125 and you apply the code, you save 20% or $25 so you pay $100 on the AMEX.

      What? Makes no sense, I have always spent the bare minimum and have always received the AMEX credit.

        Makes perfect sense. You need to spend $100 on the AMEX card. So if you don't buy $125 worth of goods, you won't spend $100 on the AMEX card, i.e. you won't spend the bare minimum.
        Just simple logic, and I couldn't have spelt it out any clearer.

          I'm sorry, but that's simply incorrect. You are spending $100 worth of goods on your card, THEN you get the $30 credit.

          Have you actually used any of these deals? I used the DSE one recently, spent just above the requisite $100 and received the $15.00 credit immediately thereafter.

          I'm sure there are plenty of other people who can vouch for the same.

          @paizuri: I've used many of the deals and I am correct. You are just not reading my message clearly. You are correct when you say, "You are spending $100 worth of goods on your card, THEN you get the $30 credit". And I've never disagreed with that.

          I am not suggesting that people need to spend $125 on their AMEX card. I am just suggesting that the total invoice before the 20% discount comes to $125, SO THAT THEY DO SPEND AT LEAST $100 ON THE AMEX.

          A simple point, easy to understand, as long as you read it properly. Once again, I couldn't have said it more clearly.
          To reiterate, I agree with you, but not with your criticism.

          Don't criticise people for what they are not saying. Read people's comments carefully before you criticise them.
