  • Awesome, I got the service temporarily congested message too, but I've signed up. Just need to order my voucher now! ^_^

  • +1

Have signed up, but have found their servers to be overloaded and when I tried re-submitting it said that my email was already in use - so touch wood it all turns out OK!

  • Once you have got the US60 voucher, do you just pay at the check out in any Australia Hotel (e.g. Ibis), will the exchange rate be much lower than the bank rate?

How about if you prepaid and book online? Can you enter this voucher code?

    Thanks

  • if this works this is all kinda of awesomesauce.

  • i have signed up and entered the promotion code but they did not give me the 2000 bonus points

    • did u receive the confirmation email? if u sign into a|club using the membership no. in the email, u should be able to see the points in your account.

  • Do the vouchers have an expiry date?

    • i think its valid one year from the issue date

      • in that case do u know if the voucher can be redeemed later?

        • i would assume so - you get 2000 bonus points upon signup, use the points when you please

  • OK got the points. Where can I request a voucher to be mailed out? It seems like this can only be used when you make reservations and can't be converted to something tangible.

EDIT nevermind. Figured out how to redeem.

PS: do they accept vouchers in foreign dollars in Australia? What currency tends to be most stable against the dollar? USD is too volatile

  • hm… can i use the point straight away?
to redeem the pointdo i need to booked online or i can just walk in to any hotel…?
the price in the a club reservation tab so expensive

    • you can use the points straight away.

I got the confirmation email with membership number, logged in, clicked on hotel vouchers and redeemed the 2000 points for the USD60 voucher, to be delivered within 2 weeks.

very simple and straightforward, as detailed by oziboi.

  • Can you use it to eat at their restaurant?

  • Anyone know whether we could book online at prepaid rate using the coupon?

I think the T&C said you could pay when checking out at any participating hotel.

  • can u use multiple vouchers for the one stay or is it one voucher per stay?

like if i was to sign my whole family up will i be able to combine all the vochers together??

    • +4

When another hotel chain had a similar promotion, I found that it was possible to redeem one voucher per night, all under the same name. So for a 3-night stay, I made 3 separate bookings (ie. 3 vouchers), then just sent the hotel an email prior to my stay requesting that I be given the same room for the 3 nights. Worked out well. Good luck!

      • thanks roshodgekiss :D

  • -2

    .

    • Then you have to book in different names i.e one day in your name, second day in your partner's name. You may get different rooms lol.

  • thumbs up for this

  • I tried to redeem the voucher, but it just said that I have ordered the voucher and it will be delivered to my address. The problem is that after that process, I still have the 2000 point in my account, so I can keep redeeming the voucher. Also, the transaction does not shown up in the history. Obviously there is something wrong..

    • +4

No, there is nothing wrong. In the small print:

"* For any A|Club rewards gift vouchers order done by a resident of the asia pacific area, the A|Club account will not be immediately debited. The transaction will appear on your account summary activity a few days later."

So in a few days time, your account will be at zero (and hopefully your voucher will be on its way). Good luck! :)

      • Ups, you are right. Thanks for pointing it out.

  • You are awesome. This is a great deal!

  • These boxes are blank anyone have the same problem for register?

    Language preference *
    Title *
    Country *

  • Looks like you can transfer the 2000 points to QFF points.

    Hmmmmm

    • I looked at that, but I didn't think it was as worth it as the hotel voucher was.

    • +3

      so did i. 2000 points = US$60 (voucher) or 2000 points = 1/8th of a trip to sydney (about $AU$30. flight is 16000 points).

      • Accor hotels are fairly limited in the USA, you will be better off getting one in Euro and using it in Europe.

  • +3

In order to transfer to Qantas, you need at least 4,000 A Club points.

  • thanks man

  • Great find. Have signed up my whole family

  • -1

    they contradict each other :(

    in the t&c they're like

    " 7.3. Validity of A|Club points

A|Club points are valid for a period of 12 months (365 consecutive days) following the date on which they were recorded. Validity is extended for 365 days each time the Member generates a hotel credit transaction on his or her account (not including Adjustments).
If the Member does not generate any Transactions during a 365 day period, all previously-acquired A|Club points on his or her account are lost without notice and without the possibility of restoring or converting them. "

but then in the email they send you theyre like

"You were attracted by the many advantages offered by A|Club, the Accor hotel worldwide loyalty program.
    - Points that never expire earned on all your expenses in over 2,000 Accor hotels and with our partners."

    =O

    • i think they mean "never expire"………………………..as long as u stay before it is to expire. nonetheless, i find it misleading.

    • The points never expire, as long as you earn points at least once every 365 days.

A|Club are not the only ones who advertise their points never expire however require points to be acquired every year or so.

      • yea that's like Skype credit - don't do anything with it for 6 months, and u lose it

  • Does any body know if the Euro car voucher is only valid in Europe? I think I read that but wanted to double check before I ordered the voucher? Might be a bit of a waste if we cant use it here.

    • When you are in Australia I dont think you will find anyone willing to accept payment in Euros..

  • Here's 2 interesting things:

    • Re: the USD/Euro issue, if you book from accorhotels.com they'll give prices in both, so there shouldn't be a problem redeeming the voucher (BUT noticed the prices are pretty steep - eg US$60 won't get a night anywhere in Sydney in October…)

    BUT MAYBE…

    • According to the t&c's "These gift vouchers may be transferred by the Member to another person. " - so maybe different family members can sign up and give their vouchers to each other to add up? I'm game to try!
    • please post of the outcome thanks. :D

      • Thus far I've succesfully registered 3 people in the family (note: t&c's indicate members must be over 18 yo) and requested US$60 vouchers for each of us, let's see if indeed we are able to use all 3 vouchers together.

    • i don't think $60 will get you a night anywhere in anywhere!

      • well, no. But it could get you a half priced hotel.

  • Thanks for this! Great find.

I have opted for the US$60 voucher. My question is, I live in AUS, can I use the US voucher to pay for my accommodation in Australia?

    Thankyou

  • I wonder if i it's possible to transfer points to another member. Ideally i would like to transfer my 2000 points to my mum, to add to her 2000 points, so she can have the 4000 minimum points required to convert them to Qantas FF points.

    • how many QFF points would you get with that?

  • Can anyone confirm if this can be used in Australia?

    • I would like to know this too? It doesn't say that it cannot be used in Aus, so hopefully it can be!
I might call the help number and find out

      • Based on the contact support it is on Sydney so I am sure it will be ok to use in Australia.

I called and the lady said it is possible to combine vouchers but can someone call again to confirm?

        *Search for the hotel.
*To combine voucher to book for a hotel, we need to call the hotel directly and ask whether they accept the voucher (just in case).
*ask to pay with two vouchers
*if ok to go then book for it.

        or
        * paid online to book the hotel
        * use the voucher for breakfast something like that.

I could be wrong that is why we need to try it first :) I still cannot login to redeem the voucher, it might not finalise the setup.

  • I spoke to a lady on the Sydney help line. She said because they have had such a high volume of requests, the vouchers will take up to 3 weeks to be mailed out as they are being sent from Paris.

Regarding usage, the vouchers CAN be used for hotel in Australia.
Surat is correct insaying that you can either pre-pay for your accommodation and use the voucher to put towards food, bev etc. OR you can call the hotel direct and book your hotel room and then use your voucher when you check out to put towards acoommodation

  • I just redeemed my reward but the pts are still there. It looks like no transaction happened!

just noticed: " * For any A|Club rewards gift vouchers order done by a resident of the asia pacific area, the A|Club account will not be immediately debited. The transaction will appear on your account summary activity a few days later."

  • guys, to redeem the voucher, can we just walk in to any hotel (Accor, Ibis, etc) no reservation needed via phone or online??

    • You redeem the points online to get the voucher. They send the voucher in 3 weeks. Walk in to the hotel and book or stay that day if they have room available. Give the voucher over the counter. This is my plan, IF I get the voucher :)

  • I was told by the lady on the help line that you CANT redeem it online e.g. you cant book through their website with the voucher, only when you make a booking directly over the phone or when you walk-in and make a booking. So basically, you cant book online and get the discounted price

Has anyone else called the help line?

    • Called the 1300 number first. Was trying to redeem the points to book a room. Then the CSR told to call Sydney Office. Sydney office told me redeem the points online first then use the voucher…. Arghhhh
I can not wait 3 weeks

  • Thank you OZ'an :)

  • great deal, thank yoU!

  • Great One - Thank You

  • +1

DO NOT BOOK ANY ACCOR HOTEL YET!

As many people have said above, these are PAPER vouchers. You cannot redeem at all, online.

You need to wait when/if you get these hot little vouchers in your hand, by postal mail.

Wait for them when/IF you actually get them.

(So far, NO-ONE on ozbargain has received their promised Accor voucher …so don't hold your breath, no matter what anyone says. It's all been hot air so far.)

Otherwise, if you book your hotel now, you will be forced pay the full cost of the hotel when you leave, or cancellation fees if you cancel, via credit card with REAL COLD HARD CASH!

  • so don’t hold your breath

The vouchers will come, A|Club is legitimate as is Accor

    • The vouchers will come

Maybe, maybe not. The fact remains that, as of today's date, no-one has recieved these vouchers.

It's always important to be cynical about everything and anything where you get something for nothing.

"If it sounds too good to be true, it is".

A|Club is legitimate as is Accor

Accor is definately legitimate, I agree. A huge French company. I have stayed at their hotels in Australia.

However, I have never heard of A-Club being available in Australia.

      • However, I have never heard of A-Club being available in Australia.

I aclub is very available in Australia, i should know as i have been a member since it launched.

I have a membership card and use it whenever i stay at an accor hotel

  • well my wife joined a-club at Normanville Accor resort here in South Australia, so A-Club is definitely available in Australia.

  • Accor exists from ages ago and no one of OzBargains received there voucher yet because its posted from France and thats a wee while to get here. Sorry, but free doesn't qualify for Express Post of any sort. Good things take time?

On another note, anybody think a massive announcement/promotion is coming up? The banners on A-Club say prepare for September 10th 2009. Hmmm….???

  • +1

This promotion cannot be used for that famous ACCOR HOTEL called "Formula 1".

  • After signing up, I received an email that said:

"Your A|Club card will be sent to you right after your next stay at a participating Accor hotel. "

So Im assuming you can call up to redeem your $ as a discount on your next stay.

    • The A Club card you mentioned is your membership card, not the gift voucher

  • I just received the following email from Accor A|Club:

"We have well received your Email dated 5 September 2009 and we thank you for the time taken writing to us.

We are pleased to confirm your order for a total amount of 60 USD of A|Club Rewards Gift vouchers. They are the following numbers: ********

You will receive your vouchers within 2 weeks for an address within France, and 3 weeks for outside France."

    Now I can't wait to receive my voucher… ^_^

  • I am just wondering, do you have to stay at an Accor hotel to use the voucher; could you buy lunch in Sydney at the Sofitel and pay with the voucher? Thanks

    • Good question. If anyone knows the answer, please let us know!

      • "A|Club rewards gift vouchers are valid every day until the expiration date shown on the front of the voucher to pay for all or part of the Member's services (including one night minimum) provided by Sofitel, Pullman, MGallery, Novotel, Mercure, Suitehotel, ibis and all seasons hotels, as well as Accor Thalassa hotels."

so i would presume you can't use the voucher without staying in the hotel.

  • Got my hotel voucher today in the mail

    • Got mu US$60 voucher today
Just do not know whether we can combined voucher to pay for one night at check out!

      • it says in the conditions that u can use multiple vouchers to pay for the stay.
well the exact words on the back of the vouchers say:

"Several A|Club rewards gift vouchers may be used to settle the same bill. It is possible to complete payment by any other means of payment accepted by the hotels or the partners."

  • what do the vouchers say on them , T&C etc…

  • I think the new part of the promotion is, they want to people to validate their accounts, which then puts them in the running for a bunch of prizes :)

    http://www.a-club.com/game/en/

  • my voucher arrived today (sydney)

  • My voucher arrived last week as well, sent from Paris. Nice.

  • got mine today!

  • +2

    nice.

this promotion expires in 2 days so get in quick if not already

    • the promo's expired now

  • Got my voucher today..nice

  • So has anyone actually booked anything with these vouchers yet?

  • Just received my vouchers! One for $60US and another for 40 euros. Don't know what to do with them though… Can I resell them on ebay? =] Anyone try booking a hotel in Australia yet? Would love to find out, trying to get a room for my parents for their next holiday.

  • dam i wuda abused this deal if it didnt expire 1 day late :(

  • i got mine, the back says the countries it can be used in, but australia isnt listed….

    • I think that's referring to Europcar rental, not the hotels right?

  • Received in my mailbox. :)

  • Could you actually not stay at those hotel and just use the voucher for food?

    • we can't, just for stay, not for food…..><

  • got mine, australia can use, i try to book room at all seasons which in perth by internet, they ask my a-club number. so, that means we can use this voucher right? an they didn't said we just can use one voucher each time. so, that means we can use two together to cover one night's fee…right?

  • oh my god
    havent receive mine

  • +1

Just let everyone know that I used two of the vouchers in Auckland Mercure last month.

  • I just used 3 vouchers in Liverpool, Sydney - great night at a cheaper price!

  • successfully used the vouchers for extras only (food, spa) on a prepaid room (3 day super-sale) at Novotel, KL.

  • Just used mine and couldn't believe how much I was ripped off on the exchange rate. $57 for USD $60! Had to book on the regular rate when could have got it chepaer pre-paid. Won't be bothering with a-club rewards again.
