110

Hi Guys,

We are Mangou.com.au, a relatively new online Asian supermarket which does same day and overnight home delivery in Melbourne.

We are offering you guys a $5 coupon to spend at our store through a Facebook promotion. They are valid till the 31/12/14.

To get this coupon, you'll have to:

  • Like our page (what's not to like?)
  • Enter your email (so that we know who you are just in case your coupon fluffs up)
  • Tell us your favourite Asian Brand (this part is optional)

We were primarily a Chinese language site, and as such stock a great number of Chinese products (particularly instant noodles - I mean seriously, it may even be considered….extensive) however having just launched an English version we realised that we need a greater range of products and would really appreciate if you guys could help us out. Tell us what you'd like and we'll do our best to get the item.

Also, seeing as our site is still in it's developmental stages you may encounter some bugs, glitches or "interesting" translations (apparently we sell "Jap&Korean Snake") please bare with us. If you do run into any difficulties please comment below and I'll try to sort it out as soon as I can.

Thanks very much guys!

Hope you enjoy enjoy this coupon and find something you like!

Happy Bargain Hunting!!!!

    Some good products! Thanks!

  • Do you guys stock shirataki/konjac root noodles?

    • Unfortunately we do not, however we do stock Korean sweet potato vermicelli - I know…it's not the same thing - but it's probably the closest thing we stock at the moment. Thanks for the suggestion though :)

      • Thanks. I'm particularly into those noodles, as they are low carb (and also low calorie).

  • is this in perth as well?

    • Hi, we deliver to the rest of Australia through Fastway couriers, though unfortunately we are unable to send out frozen, fresh or "cold dish" items. As for delivery costs you'd have to check their website (link below).

      • BTW, fastway delivery sucks ,many times I had something delivered(Melbourne to melboune) only after a week of chasing up. I'm surprised they are still around!

  • Nice

the next day delivery fee for weekly special products is $6. so $5 can't cover that, unless you buy their products in full price, then the delivery fee is free

    • Thought it's free for over $30. Depends where you are I guess

      • Yeah over $30 but not sure if that's only for Melb though.

I won't neg this deal for people who prefers the convenience of delivered groceries (and obviously there's a price to pay for that). But this store is probably a bit more expensive in general than your local Asian grocers.

One litmus test I often use is to compare the price of my favourite Nissin noodles and this store sells then for 99 cents a pack compared to about 65 cents normally available at other Asian grocers. But then again still cheaper than if you are buying from the Asian section of your Coles and Safeway (I refuse to call them Woolworths!).

    • For me the prices are pretty much the same as other places I'd shop at..But there are some goods that I will agree with are more expensive…But still it's for convenience and that in itself makes it pretty cool, especially if the free shipping works Aussie wide.

  • Is the "free shipping" including people who live outside of Melbourne and spend over $30 on a purchase?

    • Hi pikapika!
Unfortunately we can't offer free delivery to people outside Melbourne, as we use a third party courier and it would be too costly at the moment. We are looking to incorporate some sort of delivery deal in the future, however I can't say how long that will be. We will be sure to post is on our FB page and on our site when we do. Sorry about that :(

      • Ah…Then you need to make some sort of changes because it showed it to me as free shipping until I put in my Payment method. Like I'd joined up to the site and all and was still seeing free shipping even though you've got my Postal Code.

Also I went to the Postal site you guys use to get a quote and I couldn't get one if I didn't properly know the dimensions of the box sooooo I got an error code..I'd love to use you guys but if I don't know a postage price I'm not going to buy.

  • Great idea! Prices are not the lowest but reasonable. What is your price match guarantee?

    • Hi Hilarious,

Essentially the price matching system is that we will pay you out the difference of between our item and a cheaper item in Mangou Points which you can use to subsidise the total cost of a transaction.

You will need to make an account to be eligible. To enter, you go to the item in question where you will see a button which will read "Find a cheaper one", at which we will prompt you, if you haven't already to login to your mangou account. Then simply submit either a URL to the site, or a photo of either a receipt or shop listing of the item and we will verify it. Upon verification we will transfer Mangou Points to which you are entitled to your account.
