Why is Dick Smith powering DJ's electronics? Are they providing the batteries to DJ or something.

  DJs got tired of running their own electronics section, and weren't doing it particularly well (not making enough profit). So they decided to get DS to do it for them.
  
  I'm not sure, but I think DS rents the floor space from DJs, and the electronics section is actually a small DS store, somewhat separate from DJs. Renting the floor space probably makes more profit for DJs.

These TDK tapes are $10 cheaper at Kmart. Don't forget you can use these in SP or LP mode. Disappointed there are no VCR deals.
