Not sure which he is talking about but the X-Treme Vision +100% are best for visibility, Crystal Vision has a slight blue tint and the Diamond Vision is the bluest. The more blue they go the less you can see with them, meaning blue tints are purely for looks and are worse for visibility.

With the Philips there is a lot of fakes especialy with the older packets we used to get here about 5+ years ago that look like these:

        Fake: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/251671296562
        Fake: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/321029195803

The examples above can be found at dozens of Chinese websites for about $10 a pair with free delivery or as low as $4~ each if you buy 10 or more.

These ones here appear the be the genuine EU versions (I have not read or seen anything about fake EU versions): http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/221465848735

And below is the current Asia/Pacific packaging:

If I seach x-treme vision on ebay, Australia only, lowest price first. Most of the first page is full of fakes.

        • How do you know the first are fakes?

BTW, that Chinese writing in the last picture looks pretty suspicious, given it says it's meant for the Australian market…

Not only are they fake all of the bulbs were bent (not coming out of the holder on a 90 degree angle) which would cause the low beam cutoff to be too low and out of adjustment range to correct it.

When I questioned the company asking if they are factory 2nds they said they are "high quality replica made in China" aka fakes, even though it says made in Germany on all of them.

I had since found out via Philips Australia that the packaging with those bulbs have not been in production for a very long time and that no retailer of genuine Philips bulbs in Australia would have any in stock.

As for the Chinese writing on last picture the bulbs are made for the Asia/Pacific region, its the same packaging you would find in reputable automotive stores.

I have genuine X-treme vision 2 of my cars now and in my old Commodore I had genuine X-treme vision H4's and Osram night breaker plus H1's, when I put the high beams on it used both the H4's and H1's at the same time and it was so bright that it always appeared that a car was coming around the next corner or over the horizon as it gave the effect where you can see the bright hazy light in the distance, I tried to search for a example but I cant find a pic. I never really got used to it and was always dipping my lights when I didn't need to but soon after sold the car.

Supercheap has the Narva Plus 120 range 50% off at the moment:
          http://search.supercheapauto.com.au/search?w=narva%20plus%20…
Although I have never used them before so I'm not sure how they would perform against the X-treme Vision or Night Breaker Plus.

  • Have just installed Narva 120+ in my NM pajero. The bulbs were $41 from SCA. They are pretty good on low beam and really good on high beam compared to the old globes.
