Probably worth mentioning that it's at La Monakella in the CBD.

      Cheers, missed that :)

Prepare to be annihilated by the mound of chips they will make you finish before getting more ribs though!

  • Please put the name of the restuarant

All You Can Eat Ribs & Chips

    Title is misleading and deceptive

It's not all you can eat, it depends on how fast their service is "one plate at a time" and it's only for "90 minutes"…

    • +1

Agreed with what you're saying but I guess it depends how slow this restaurant is.

Having done similar deals at Tony Roma's in Sydney (before they closed down), I agree the service was not quick and you probably filled up in the time spent waiting for the next serve of riblets to arrive, I don't think anyone at the table left feeling that they could have eaten any more.\

I'd also add I wish this was in Sydney! It's great that they include chips. I know chips are cheap but I found the chips were what helped break up the constant meat!

I know a couple of guys who could have a solid crack at sending this place broke

    • +1

Tell 'em, if they need a good wingman…

  • +2

Sadly I agree with Jv, I know I could definitely eat more ribs than the $ amount they have assigned to a single diner

    • +3

Do these sound like the actions of a man who had all he could eat!? ;)

  • +7

Just be careful, says must be used within 90 days of purchase but 30 of those days are in a blackout for the deal.

    • +1

good spotting - kinda dodgy they may as well just say valid until 17 Dec aka 60 days use

    • I've sworn off Groupons/Scoopons/etc. for restaurants ever since the terrible experience I had trying to make a booking last time I bought one. Obviously it will depend on the establishment but the risk is there.

Don't buy the discount vouchers for this place. Not even worth it. Short sightedness on the owners part about customer service. Wouldn't allow a walk in (with no booking) with the voucher when clearly there were tables available.

      • +2

Not defending this place at all, but you have to expect not to walk in with a Scoopon/Groupon etc. Have to expect that they wont fill the restaurant on a Friday/Saturday night with voucher holders.

        • +2

I'm pretty sure most vouchers state booking a table is necessary.

      • "when clearly there were tables available."

Yes. Those were for the people that booked.

      • The restaurant has replied to you now on Urbanspoon:

A Reply From Lamonakella At La Monakella
We believe when referring to vouchers you are talking about Scoopon which we are promoting right now. I am sorry this is how you feel but please note that we have a booking system to make sure how many guests we can take and not overbook and also keep some tables for walk-ins who do not have scoopon. It is clearly noted in the conditions to book via email or phone and many will agree that we have taken bookings at very short notice and even few hours before when we have availability. Please note that even though you might see tables they are for confirmed bookings and as responsible and dedicated owners we cannot just give the tables away for the sake of having more people in.

      • They clearly stated that, as most coupon do. U didn't read and mad because of your own fault (and even wasted your time to put a negative review). Seriously?

    "Not valid Mon-Wed"

    Weird

    • +1

Not weird, they are covering their slower days no doubt..

    • +4

Slow days = more chance you can get seconds before the 90 mins is up?

for those in sydney and feel like they're missing out, go to waterfront in darling harbour on Tuesdays. 27$ all you can eat ribs.

    • Any all you can eat in melb?
On separate topic, I don't think ribs in melb is as good as in Sydney (or at least I haven't found it yet)

      • Meatmother! Richmond. Texas style smoked beef rib for dinner only. Also try their pulled pork Texas sandwich for lunch.

    • Have you been there?

Whats it like? is it pork ribs or just beef?

      Do you need to book?

      Anything else I should know?

Six of my colleagues decided to go for this together, and we bought a two vouchers (one 4persons and one 2persons groupon), only to be told (in very unfriendly tone)when i tried to book that the T&Cs state only 1 voucher is allowed per table.

The lady said very that she could not sit us at the same table unless the people not covered by the voucher paid full price, but would "try to seat us near each other - no guarantees".

Yes, the T&Cs do state one voucher per table and im kicking myself for not reading it down to every term.

I feel like this might be a preview of the customer service i will receive during the meal.

    • +2

      what a ridiculous condition…

    • +3

Wow. Yet another company that thinks promotions are all about fostering ill will.

What I find hilarious is when a company acts like this then hires people to call you and ask if you were satisfied.

  • +1

What's the damm point of booking 1 month in advanc and then if something unexpected comes up there goes your voucher. No thanks

    • +1

Well I was going to take the risk and buy a voucher only to see there is no availability at all for the entire remaining period. Unless I'm missing something that makes the voucher useless.

Certainly very odd for the place to block out Monday to Wednesday, I have a feeling they only set aside a couple of tables on each available day. Good luck to the 200+ voucher holders, I hope they've already booked or they're in for a nasty surprise.

      • Looks that way, cheers expired the deal :)

      • Now 396 bought, but there's been no availability since 250ish bought… Wow bad business practices!

  • +1

1 Voucher per table kills the deal….can't even get 2 couples to have dinner together …. quite petty really.

  • +1

That man ate all our shrimp, and two plastic lobsters!

  • Deal is still on, they have added a lot more booking windows (if I wanted I could go tomorrow night :)

  • I was able to book for my preferred night no problems, told them I had a voucher and they accommodated. Just give them a buzz.

  • I can imagine a South Park episode where every couple starts sitting at separate tables just to use this voucher.
