      8000 points will get you a one-way intra-state trip in economy class. 12,000 points will get you a short (from Sydney to Adelaide, Launceston, etc) one-way intra-state trip. 18,000 will get you out of the country!

    Last time I needed a QFF membership on the fly, I googled around and found that these are pretty much always available by one 'deal' or another. Many seem to specity expiry dates, but they often keep on working after those dates anyway.

    Nice post OP, but the bargain part of this deal is the 10,000 free points (worth about $60 in the shop). you might want to edit your title to reflect that.

      they're not really free, you need to earn 10,000 points in the first three months of your membership first to qualify !!!

      No, you won't receive the points in time. They credit it 60 days after the 3 months of transactions…

    It will be difficult for many people to earn 10000 points in 3 months unless they are signing up to bonus points offers.

      Or if you're flying
      A single SYD to LHR or JFK discount economy return on bronze status is enough for >10k points.
