Another points offer for those excluded from all CCs

  • +2

it is a good one for churners, considering most bank increased cooling period.

I received the 150k V points offer like 2 years ago and still able to get this offer. Chat online and the agent confirm that I am eligible. Received 70k last week.

$199 for 70k was not too bad.

    • +2

I think if anyone had something like this before this offer commencement date 6 February 2025 they can apply again

      • they seemed have a lower requirement of cooling period.

      • How about this? Offer exclusions: This offer is available only once per customer. If you have previously received, or are entitled to earn, 70,000 Velocity Frequent Flyer Points with this offer, you will not be eligible to earn another 70,000 Velocity Frequent Flyer Points with this offer.

    • How long did you wait after transferring the $5000 to receive the email to provide your velocity number?

And how long did you wait to receive the points after providing velocity number?

      Thanks!

      • approved early APR, received the email to supply V membership mid MAY, received the points last week.

        Pretty smooth

        • thanks! just got my card Monday, and the $5000 balance transfer was done on Tuesday.
so hoping to receive the email mid July. fingers crossed

    • +1

I did the same back 2022 but online agent said I may not be able get V points this time. did you chat with a agent in the promotion team?

  • So get $5k transferred to bank account, transfer it back to Citi, pay the $199 fee and get 70k points?

What's the catch here? Do you only transfer $4,999 back so your credit is still open?

    • +1

      Credit Score impact.
I'd transfer $4900 to be safe

      • Why $4900? Don't you need to close the balance?

        • +1

There's a minimum payment of around $20 on each statement. And it takes about 2-3 statements to get the bonus points. You need to keep a balance to get the bonus points.

  • For those who got this recently, how long after you balance transfer the $5000 do you receive the email to provide your velocity number?

    • Requesting your Velocity Frequent Flyer number: NAB will send you an email to the address maintained on your Citi Ready Credit account requesting your Velocity Frequent Flyer membership number from you within 2 months from the date the initial transfer of $5,000 or more was processed.

  • Any idea what supporting documentation is required for this application?

    • +2

just payslips. recently applied and approved. approval took few business days for me.

  • +1

Just wondering has anyone had both the Qantas and Velocity offers at the same time? And do you get the bonus points for both?

    • Yes, also wondering if this is possible

    • T&C in Qantas say you cannot double dip, also confirmed with live chat.

Qantas Offer exclusions: This offer is available only once per customer. This offer is not applicable or valid in conjunction with any other advertised or promotional offer. If you have previously received, or are entitled to earn, 50,000 Qantas Points with this offer, you will not be eligible to earn another 50,000 Qantas Points with this offer.

      • +1

I did a live chat with Citi, they confirmed you can apply and have both Citi Ready Credit accounts from both Velocity and Qantas offers at the same time, and you will get the bonuses from both offers.

        • Certainly not the same answer I got from my last talk with the Live chat. Wish you good luck and do come back if you are successful of getting both.

          • @Jasongood: I also asked live chat and they said the same, you actually can have both velocity and qantas bonus offers at the same time

    • hello, have you been successful getting both Velocity and Qantas offer?

  • +4

I have absolutely no idea how this facility works. Is there an explanation for dummies?

    • +1

It's quite similar to credit card in that you are extended a credit limit and you are only charged interest on the amount you use. The key difference from credit card is there are no interest free days, and there's no cash advance fee i.e., you can withdraw money as cash as you would from a normal bank account.

      • Cheers mate

  • Little confused, I got the nab reward visa, just got 60k velocity points from that offer. Can I apply for this to?

    • yes, different products

      • Thanks

  • +2

Noob query - lets say get approved for 5000 pay 4900 next day and pay the 199 establishment fee plus interest on 1 dollar balance .

Question is whether the credit card remaining balance can be used on day to day purchases without any interest on this purchase or will these purcuases as well add to the interest

  • Yikes! $199 annual fee for only 70k points. My last churn a year ago was under $100 annual fee for about the same amount of points.

Churning really isn't as good as it once was.

  • +2

Anyone knows if this hits harder on your credit score than say a credit card would?

  • Was going to apply until a mate if mine told me he got rejected eventhough his credit score is very clean and income > $150k. Now am abit afraid. Has anyone else been rejected?

  • Applied this afternoon at around 3pm and got approved by this evening (approved email came at 5:30pm).

Can I ask if everyone applied for the balance transfer during the application? And could you create a login on the app before the card arrived?

    • +1

Yes, requested balance transfer during application. After the card arrived and activated, the next day the $5000 was transferred to my nominated bank account

      • How long before you received the email from NAB about your Velocity Frequent Flyer number?

  • Anyone applied both and got approved?

  • May i ask what is the bpay id for citi ready credit? I havent received my first statement yet.

    • +1

If you login via website you can see bsb and account number to transfer to.

  • Hey everyone, I got my $5000 in my nominated bank account now. Just to confirm, do I just transfer say $4900 back and make a repayment of say $20 every month until (which gives five statement periods for the points to come) I get my points and I can pay whatever is left over off?

How do I pay the $199 fee?

And how fast does the repayment show up in Citi back if I transfer via BPAY back into the Citi Ready Credit account?

    • The fee will be in the the 1st statement. You will get the BSB and account number to pay back. Usually show up after 2-3 business day.

  • Deal ends on 14 July as they stop taking application after that date.

  • Anyone got the email from NAB to provide their Velocity membership number yet?

    • Nope. From past experience it's sometime after receiving the first statement.

  • been over a week that i transferred $4900 to my nominated bank account and haven't heard from citi regarding the bsb/account number to pay it back. anyone has any ideas?

    • you have to transfer $5000 to your nominated bank acc to be eligible for the bonus points. so you need to transfer $100 more.

and you can view bsb/account of your citi ready credit account if you login to Citi Online website, not the app.

      • sorry correction, i did transfer 5k, not sure why i said 4900. Now that its been a few days and the 5k is sitting in my account, can i just transfer 4900 back to citi and that's it?

        • +1

yes just transfer the $4900 back

          • @gembel: It says only balance transfer is eligible ?

What is different to transfer via bank account vs balance transfer?
Do we need to do balance transfer to eligible for 70k points ?

            From post :
you must apply for this offer, request a balance transfer of $5,000 or more within 3 months from approval, and provide a Velocity Frequent Flyer membership number linked to an account in your name to NAB within 2 months of our request fo

  • Website says "Please note that Ready Credit accounts are changing and as a result will no longer be accepting applications from 14 July 2025.
Any applications submitted before 14 July 2025 will be reviewed and decisioned as per normal. If you have submitted an application, please check to ensure required actions or additional information has been completed or provided. Any applications that are not finalised before 1 August 2025 will be cancelled by us."

I think this means applications on 14th will not be accepted - i.e. this deal has expired. Is that right?

    • I just applied for this today (and got approved). I'm hopeful its the wording from Citibank as its meant to say from 14th July 11.59pm onwards you wont be able to apply. And because the link is still available, its valid.

Trust will be what happens when I login tomorrow to see if the URL to apply is removed.

Received the email requesting for my velocity number today. around 3 weeks after my $5k balance transfer was made.

    • Nice. My transfer was on 4 July….so fingers crossed another week or so before I got the email.

Have you paid off the loan and closed the Citi Ready Credit account? Or waiting for the points to hit your Velocity account first?

      • you will only get the bonus points if you have a balance in your ready credit account. so the account must remain active and keep paying the minimum monthly payments until you receive the points

  • Received a letter today, the account is changing to a credit card account from August. I wonder which credit card product…

  • Anyone got the points from this deal? My transfer was done on 4 July and still no emails asking for my Velocity membership number. I've also gotten the email informing me that the account is changing to a credit card.

    • still waiting for the points
did you get them to do the $5000 transfer or manually?
I think you have to call them to activate the transfer to qualify, or provide the BT details during application

      • I requested the $5,000 BT during the application and it was done automatically.
Have paid $4900 back so just waiting for this membership email…

        • I am also waiting. Transfer happened on the 15th so we'll see how it goes.

    • also waiting for points. initial trf similar time to yours.

      • Hi, have you received the points?

        • Haven't received mine. From past experience can take 1.5 months after the initial transfer.

  • I just got my first statement that said interest was 22.49% rather than 8.9%… anyone else have this issue?

    • I thought so too but towards the bottom it says bonus interest rate which is lower

      • No idea, my statement says 22.49% cash advances and I got charged $15.4 for two days worth of interest

        • I paid back 5100 because of the fees etc I'm in 5215 debt. That should still keep the account in debit to fulfill the criteria right?

  • So, I was in the same boat and got charged 22.49% interest rather than 8.9%. reached out to citi via their online chat. they confirmed that 22.49% is the cash advance rate and 8.49% is balance transfer rate. since i did not reach out to them to initiate a balance transfer, they tagged my original withdrawal of $5k as a cash advance.

to fix all this, i have to get my account back to $5k. and reach out to them to initiate a balance transfer.

No - they did not refund the interest charged as they said its clear in their terms and conditions. if anyone has any luck getting a refund - let us know!

    • How did you make the original withdrawal of $5k?

      • Followed someone's comment here and transferred it to one of my other bank accounts via citi online banking.

        • Isnt that consider a manual transfer to account and WONT be eligble as a balance transfer?

          • @Its Bill Murray: Yep was not considered a balance transfer, hence does not meet the eligibility required for velocity points.

            • @gavydude: What we need to do here to eligible ? Pay back whole amount. And do the balance transfer again ?

  • Transfer happened on the 15th July. Got my email today!

    • email to provide your velocity number?

  • How long after providing the VFF number do the points get credited? I know it says it can take up to 2 months but does it really take that long or just a few days?

    • Still waiting for my points, its been almost a month now since i provided my velocity number.

  • +1

Got my email today and provided my membership number as well. Hopefully the 70k points get deposited soon!

    • Have you done balance transfer or account transfer?
I got email but in above note it says we have to do balance transfer to be eligible for points. Do you have any insight

      • Mine was a balance transfer from when I applied.

  • Hey guys, first time I’ve used this kind of credit facility. Have received my first statement and email requesting velocity details. Interestingly my minimum payment is $25, rather than $20. Would I just pay back the $199 fee, $25 minimum payment and what ever interest ($0.68) and leave $75 balance remaining?

    • Yea that's what i did
      Pay the $199 fee+ $25 min payment + interest.
Leave the remaining for next statements until you receive the points.

      • What happens if you accidentally paid too much? Any way to increase the balance by requesting a bit more balance transfer?

  • Received 2nd statement, still no bonus points yet

    • This is taking forever to be honest…

    • How long has it been since you provided you VFF number?

      • provided my VFF number on 16/07/2025.
so just over 1 month now.

  • Already 6 weeks now since providing vff number. Still no points. 2 more weeks to go.

  • +2

Received my 70k velocity points today :)
    Time to close my account

    • me too received 70k velocity points today.
