What is the saving from JB's normal price ?

    • +3

Appears to be $399 delivered from Dell.
      $398 is JB's reg price.
      This is just spam IMO.

  • Still can't compete with Big W's clearance sale a few months ago. $200 for 15" Dell laptop with i3, 4Gb RAM, 500Gb HDD.

    • Although true, there is no need to bring up that deal, as that was rare old clearance stock and certainly not likely to come back @ that price for regular sale. Definitely not available anywhere I know now at those prices. If you got on as I did, we should both be glad and not rub that in to current deals me thinks.

Er… this same laptop is $249 in the US?!?

      So what?

      • +1

I suggest you look at the pricing of PC hardware in the US and here. It's pretty much the same. If this is the case, then why should a laptop cost 50% more here?

  • +3

This is standard pricing for this type of laptop.

    • +2

Agreed. Should be no more than $300 for these specs.

Ok price for a very basic laptop today. Be aware although this is a current Intel Celeron CPU model N2830, it is part of the Bay Trail-M range ( used to be Atom ), which means low performance more in line with today current tablets and netbooks.
    Intel Celeron Processor N2830: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Celeron+N2830+…

Graphics is also on the low side for the price you pay here as although current cpu, not part of the better Haswell range.

Another point to keep in mind is that this only has 2x USB 2 ports and Windows 10 around the corner for a more optimised hassle free upgrade if that's what tickles your fancy.
These sort of machines with these specs can be had for $50 to $130 less if patient.
