  • Pretty good price. I got one from DSE for about $850 - 20% - GST refund (on the full $850) and came in a little bit under this. Edit: You should be able to do GST refund on this too? Australian tax invoice?

    Bloatware… Bloatware Aware..

    • +1

Should be generic. Apart from Samsung's bloatware you mean?

      • -1

        yes, of course. Samsung's bloatware.

        • Just remove it if you don't want it

        • @TRENT86:
Can't remove them (unless you root the phone)

So this is an unlocked phone, which network was it locked to?

    • +1

Just because it's unlocked doesn't mean it was ever locked.

    • Was never locked

    Try Kogan though; cheaper still

    • Why Kogan is $614 delivered, Not Australian stock and it only comes with 1 year kogan warranty compared to 2 year Samsung Aus stock with case

      • +4

Kogan doon't sell this model. This is the SM-G900I and supports Telstra's new 700Mhz 4G frequency

  • I am never buying an high end android above $500 again. Such a waste of money, 2 year old Galaxy S3 paid $750 now worth only about $200-$250 on ebay. Whilst I dislike iPhones atleast they maintain their value..plus I kinda think it is silly to put so much money into a phone now, I only really use it for photos and web browsing!

    • +2

you clearly didn't know ozbargain back then because 2 years ago they were on here for around $500

      • I bought it from Dick Smith $747 seemed to be best local price at the time. Maybe was 2 years and a few months. Annway the thing is pretty crippled now, the first gen did not have enough ram and it is just so laggy now.

    • +2

I honestly think i'm just gonna get a Nexus 5 and call it a day. Still a great phone for $450.

  • Are you still going Telstra? They are the most expensive and worst customer service. It is true they have the infrastructure and they service the remote areas, but the other options are very good alternatives.
Even with the one year warranty, they can still support their sold items up to two years

    • Actually I find telstras service to be great, but I never ring them! I always talk to them online and it works like a treat every time

    • Noo, if they don't service your area they're not an alternative! Telstra is the only option in many Rural areas regardless what the service maps say

Oh, and I think this phone is pretty mediocre compared to past Galaxy S phones, would go a G3 if Android is the go

  • Getting coupon code not valid error.

    • This deal ends 25th Oct. make sure you use this code S54GC17

      • I can't get the code to work either.
I've tried it with the phone in the cart by itself, and also by adding the screen protector too.
        Any ideas?

        • Works fine here. Click link at top of OzB. Add to Cart. Add coupon. $55 discount applied and screen protector automatically added to cart.

        • When you add the code the screen guard will automatically be added. All you should be doing is clicking link, clicking add to cart then enter code bottom left, I'm not signed in or anything

        • @TRENT86:
Have tried those steps a few times and it is continuing to say 'Coupon code "S54GC17" is not valid'.
          Very odd :S

        • @camcollins:
Make sure you don't have spaces at either end.

        • @Shonky:
It doesn't appear to work for the white model, but it is working for the blue and gray.

        • @camcollins: So that was it? You can get it now? remember you can just get a case if you don't like blue or grey

        • @TRENT86:
Yes, that appears to have been the problem.
Ended up going blue, it doesn't look too bad anyway, especially given the price.

        • @camcollins: I Actually quite like the tone of blue it is

  • wouldn't it be better using this deal to get it cheaper at officeworks?
