Melbourne to Bali $99 One Way AirAsia

490

Massive travel period from 26 Dec 2014 to 24 Oct 2015.

Flights go on sale from 12.01am on Tuesday 28 Oct.

I would expect that the Bali to Melbourne sector would cost less than $99 due to lower taxes.

You can also price beat with Jetstar to save $9 if you want to.

Is this flight direct? I think its via KL and therefore a lot longer and jetstar will not price match.

    • exactly what i thought and was going to ask!

    • +3

This is a direct flight from MEL-DPS(Bali) It is Indonesia Air Asia X

  • Start tommorrow

  • Never mind.

  • +2

My best guess is that this has to do with commencement of Indonesian Air Asia's direct service from MEL-DPS.

Melbourne to Bali $99 one way

    Great deal for drug mules.

    • -1

One way tickets for bogan hopefully.
      Stay there… Don't come back

  • (profanity) yea! Thanks OP.
Gonna get those damn Jetstar flights now.

    • +3

I just love that 9 bucks was the deal breaker for you, prior to this.

      • +1

Haha, No, I was unfortunate enough to miss out on the flights that I wanted due to the server being overloaded.

My Ozbargainer side is tingling with delight that I'll be able to save another $9 tho.

Missed out on the Jetstar flights from Sydney - I hope Air Asia releases SYD - BALI as well!!

    • I'm pretty sure they would if they thought they could get regulatory approval.

  • thanks..

Remember when AirAsia first flew from Sydney and we had some crazy good deals at the start? (http://www.airasia.com/nl/nl120117k8g6_au.htm). I wonder what the standard "promotional" prices will be from Melbourne once this promotion dies out since it's more expensive to fly from Perth right now.

I also wonder what the definitive reason is for Melbourne always seeming to get better or earlier budget flight deals. Is it just because Sydney Airport is a complicated mess to co-ordinate?

    • +1

is it because of the airport tax of Syd is higher than Mel?

      • +10

It is because Melbourne is awesome.

    • Sydney has limited slots available for flights. This would probably be the reason for this.

    • +1

It has to be the tax component.

  • malasian airlines also has a one way ticket, it's not on sale though

    • haha

  • How much is Bali to melbourne??
    The return flights?

    • I'm sure we'll find out at 12:01am.

  • Is that direct or through KL. I've heard AAX were expanding from AU to more than just direct to KL. Wasn't sure if this was included.

    • +1

Read above. Direct, unless somehow they can do a stopover as well in 6 hours and 10 minutes.

  • Are there any blackout dates?

  • Sale starts from midnight tonight - MELBOURNE TIME.

  • Jetstar now lauched a cheaper fare (from most cities too), so wont be able to price match all dates:

Try getting on the Jetstar website. It is being pounded.

  • Do you reckon I am able to book it in now and then claim money back through my credit card price protection tomorrow?

    • Nope, flights are excluded

  • Anyone know of cheap flights from the Goldy?

  • Anyone know the travel dates for this deal??

  • 26 dec to 24 oct guys - check the Facebook link provided

Anyone have exp of the best way to score flights. My fam really needs a holiday & we can all only go over Christmas

Through the website or their app??

  • Anyone booked AirAsia before? What's the best payment method i.e. is there a way to avoid processing fees?

    • if you have local bank (MY) account, you can avoid paying the processing fee using direct debit
this is past experience, not sure if they have changed tough.

      • Thanks. PayPal was only $1.35 fee on top of flights (up to 9 people on the booking)

  • Return flights $179.00

  • I'm getting $169 for my leg Mel-> Bali in July, and $99 on the return leg :(

  • There are blackout periods, but couldn't find them as yet.

  • +1

Booked during April school holidays - $760 for family of four from Melbourne. Checked baggage for 1 person

    • That's a real cheap holiday for a family

  • It's still part of the "promo" apparently, but at $169. They have the business class flatbed for $499 as advertised too.

  • There are $99- fares both ways. Just have to search for them. Number of seats available may be limited.

    • How'd you get $179? I can only find the $99 fares.

  • Not one flight $99 before the 20th of Jan? Da hell?

  • That price difference between low fare days and high fare days is just nuts….

  • +1

    I booked for 268$
26 dec to 13 th jan
    169$ +99$

  • Just a heads up, business seats also on sale for $499 if you feel so inclined!

    • +2

Isn't a business seat on AirAsia like ordering a fancy meal at McDonald's?

    • or reclined, perhaps? (feel free to down vote that).

  • Some good availability but for the specific days I needed in january, jetstar was a little cheaper. If you have flexibility with dates some great $99 fares both ways though! Hope airasia indonesia expand their routes from melbourne in the future too.

  • +1

I didn't see any $99 flights this morning. All sold out?

  • Bali could get even cheaper for Aussies

A BALI holiday may become even cheaper for Australians, with Indonesia considering lifting its visa on arrival fee. The $US35 fee ($AUD41) could be scrapped for citizens of Australia, China, Japan, South Korea and Russia from next year, Tourism Minister Arief Yahya says.

  • DIRECT flights between Denpasar (Bali) and Melbourne? UTTER RUBBISH! All flights (Dec and Jan) have 1 stop in you know where

      • UTTER RUBBISH! All flights (Dec and Jan) have 1 stop in you know where

I'm talking about REAL implementation here and have literally checked quite many dates in Dec and Jan and NONE of the flights between Denpasar (Bali) and Melbourne (VIC) are DIRECT.

Kid, of course daddy reads all local and overseas press releases as well as announcements made on AirAsia website.

Please double check your answer/response to someone with ABOVE AVERAGE IQ score like me. Otherwise you'll look like a joke who makes another joke.

        • I tried Jan 21 - there is a direct flight from Melbourne at 10:00am costing $249 and return on Jan 28 from Bali at 00:05 for $184 (Jan 27 has a return at 08:30 for $184 too).

I am just saying that direct flights are available - not judging your IQ mate.

        • @sharepoint:

quite many dates in Dec and Jan

Did I say "ALL dates in Dec and Jan"? Initially you were just pointing out the press release without double-checking the real itinerary.

I'm not judging your initiative, analytical skills or your IQ.

        • Sorry CEO, just trying to help - I don't know what your itinerary is. With the sale announced over a month ago, many direct flights may have sold off.

        • @sharepoint: Thanks appreciate that. I'm not good at tolerating mistakes, typo or not well thought piece of work or suggestion. Even those I made myself.
