I will add it to post thanks :) Can't believe I missed that one! Dam good deal

  • Any good reviews for these TV's ???

    • Some on whirlpool but it's like reading people's life stories on there rather than just giving a straight review. This site needs to allow us to review on here

    • Have you tried google?

      • I think that's usually the 1st step when you want to review something :)

    • Try this site:

      http://www.rtings.com/

Does a pretty good review of all models!!

    • I bought the 60LB5820 a couple of months ago for $1,500 when I found a nice deal back then. Its a pretty nice TV.
If I had to complain about something, it would be the black level not as "black" as some people could hope for.
I use it for casual gaming or to watch movies, and 99% of the time nothing to complain about.

  • are there any reviews for the LG and SONY units? anyone with personal experience using either one?

I have the 2013 model of the LG and it's fantastic. Best features are the Plex app and the gaming mode, and the 100hz works great.
I can only imagine the newer model is just as good.

      • 100% I was told the same thing about 2013 LG series by a friend who works in tech. They were actually made in Korea and the best in their class but 2014 LG TV panels are inferior to the 2013 series (not sure about the technicalities) only telling what I was advised.

    • I have the KDL60W600B and it is absolutely a stunning TV. Looks fab as well as the picture quality is amazing. Basically you are getting KDL60W850B without 3D for a great price. Colours are neutral (unlike Sammys) but that depends if you like extremely bright tones or neutral tones. For gaming though you can't beat the Sony due to minimal lag. Design wise this TV is extremely thin and is a beaut with Piano Black bezel and also sound quality is well above the rest…

I also have LG 42 LB6500 series in our bedrooms and they are great for what they are but I would highly recommend against LG 5XXX series due to inferior picture quality. I actually purchased the LB5820 and returned them to purchase LB6500.

      • The 4 reviews on the site seem to like it bar the fact they can't get freeview yet

        • Sorry, i guess your information is incorrect in regards to the sony. KDL60W600B came with freeview plus also has a big freeview logo on the box. Also, i managed to get it from DSE for $1280 delivered in AUG 2014.

        • @Umar511986: I Was actually talking about the LG One which if you click the specs which takes you to the site people are commenting they haven't got freeview yet

    • I bought the LG 60LB5820 last week for $1180 (Refurbished)
I'm extremely happy with the screen image, the smart features are a bit of a pass from me though.

This could be because I'm used to having smart features from a computer attached to my TV.

There is a Plex style app in the market available for this TV for $5 which would make the smart features much better. The Apps I've installed seem to run pretty slow though, the youtube app isn't great. This TV doesn't come with the Magic Remote - I was considering buying one but have decided against it now that I don't think I will use the smart features.

      The store is pretty empty

I've read that the PVR functions work really well though, but I haven't used this yet.

Attaching an android phone (I've heard Iphone is just as simple) is easy and works well, but the app seems to crash after some use (tested on nexus 4 & Samsung S2)

Input lag for gaming - on game mode is around 45ms - on other settings its around 145ms

Overall I'm pretty happy with the TV, but its suits my needs, but I couldn't compare the smart functions to other TV's as I don't have any experience with them

  • Sony $1382 with free shipping @ videopro (for those who don't want to pick up)

    • Yeah I saw that but I have no idea how video pro do in delivery and I don't trust those reviews on their site so I'd rather go GG

      • I'd say just as good (or bad) as GG. Interesting to note, although VP's extended warranty is far cheaper, it's a joke. You have to pay for the freight costs to and from the repairer?? Seems a bit ridiculous to pay for a 60" TV shipped across the state to be fixed.
