  • OMG !! Dick does it again !!

Can we upgrade those to eneloops please :)

    • Sometimes you need 1.5V…

      • In those cases, I prefer NiZn rechargeables!

They're not as good as Eneloops in general, but for devices that do need the higher voltage, they're better than alkalines because they're rechargeable and they're not prone to leakage!

          I prefer NiZn rechargeables!

are they just for New Zealanders ?

        • "Nickel–zinc cells have an open circuit voltage of 1.85 volts when fully charged"

Some electronics may not like that…

        • @jv:

Some electronics may not like that…

Which electronics that use batteries are sensitive to a .35 volt (per battery) variation?

        • @Domingo:

you mean a 23% variation in input voltage ???

        • @jv: Gawking at open-circuit voltage is pointless. Alkalines have an OCV of 1.6V, NiMH 1.3V. It's the voltage under load that's important.

NiZn isn't suitable for all use cases, but it can be useful in some.

        • @jv: Yes.

Some electronics may not like that…

Which electronics may not like that?

        • @jv: Could be wrong (cos I really don't know) but it'd surprise me a lot if these aren't within tolerances for any device you put them in.

  • Are they good batteries?

  • +11

After paying $2 for pack of 8 eneloops delivered yesterday, these seem expensive

    • Where the hell was this deal??

      • +5

        COTD Birthday Deal.

Anyway, why the dick (not that dick) sell cheaper item via COTD?

        • +2

          @rodinthink:
          Good Question!
          Dick makes COTD look Good!

It's thanks to Dick the COTD Sale actually had reasonable stock levels and no doubt will deliver in 1/4 of the time it would take COTD to do so!

  • +2

    Hmmmmmm

Cheaper here for existing COTD members with the BDAY code, $4.95 delivered

    http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/event/42675/product/fujitsu-…

Are you trying to screw us dick?

    • $12.93 delivered.

      • +1

add BDAY code, for existing members, should come to $4.95

        • +5

This offer can be used without using up your COTD credit which is valid until the end of the year…

      • $9.98 delivered for Dick.

      • +1

Because you've used the BDAY code 3 times already?

        • +3

I was only able to use mine once :(

        • +1

          @kirynflare:

          Me too…

  • Wow. Last month the Fujitsu 12 pack AA batteries were going from Dick Smith online for $2.98 each packet with free delivery. I bought two packets worth (24 batteries) for $5.96 on 21/09/2014 at the time. This is so not much of a deal here.

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/162890

    • +2

      $5.96 for 24 batteries = 24.83 cents per battery

      $7.98 for 40 batteries = 19.95 cents per battery

      • +3

My mistake. Oops. I thought it was 10 AA batteries. All i saw was 10 x Fujitsu AA and missed the 4pk bit. Pays to read the title correctly. I'm a dill!.

    • +1

So 24.83c per battery is a good deal, but 24.95c per battery is not? WOW!

BTW, you forgot to vote on that last deal.

      • Yep. $2 delivery charge now added to the OP, so it's 24.95 cents per battery :)

        • +1

So basically around about the same price per battery as last months Fujitsu AA 12pk $2.98 delivered. Not much in it. Last months deal was only slightly cheaper by a tiny amount.

  • +2

Thanks heaps Shweky .did order from COTD.
    Cheers man :-)

    • sold out from COTD

  • +9

With this many batteries, I won't be throwing rice at the next wedding I'm invited too.

    • +8

You're going to commit battery with batteries?

You might end up in a cell!

Your cellmate Bubba will ask you to Leyden on the ground while he does some exploring…

Can we get a deal on Shadow of Mordor PS4 or NBA 2k15, rep?

  • +2

Have way to many Eneloops plus they are rechargeable so I think I'll be sweet,

Is it just me or do Australian retailers think we all need batteries?

    • +3

I don't always want to use a Eneloops, esp kids toys that get left in the garden. Much prefer to use disposables in those!

  • +1

I ordered one pack of these from Dick last month to round my order over $50 to get a discount.

They sent me TWO packs, separately delivered from everything else and only charged me for one.

In fact I ordered 4 things, and got 4 separate deliveries. Dick Smith needs to work on it delivery costs.

  • +9

    These are funny looking eneloops

  • any AAA ???

  • or D?

  • +4

Hi rep. Can you please provide the best-before date of the batteries?

    • +1

Yes i would like to know that as well

  • Ordered to try them out.

  • +2

    Item total $2.54
    Tax $5.44

Looks like you've confused PayPal there.

  • Want some Eneloop deal. Please. I missed COTD deal yesterday

  • +4

Me & my WiiU thank you

  • +3

if i buy anymore batteries my wife's gonna crack it

    • I think quite a few of us on here will have similar problems with our other half.

    • I think you'll find the motor will burn out before it cracks.

  • When's the expiry of the batteries?

  • Is it the same batteries that were on sales by COTD lastnight which sold 40x for $7ish?

    • No, those were Duracell.

  • Not sure of true capacity on these, but IKEA sells decent quality alkaline batteries in packs of 10 for $3, AA or AAA.

    • $3 for 10 = $12 for 40. This deal is $9.98 for 40 and they're a known brand.

      • Yes, true. But most people probably don't want 40 and you can get AAA too. $0.30 each is good value IMO and these aren't exactly eneloops, either.

        Anyway, enjoy.

  • fujitsu notebook batteries are worst in world.I am not sure about their AA batteries but hesitant to buy due to their notebook batteries reputation ? Any idea ?

    • +1

Notebook batteries are usually simply 6x18650 3.7v batteries.
Open it up and I highly doubt you'll see Fujitsu 18650s inside; it'd be some cheap Asian brand.

These batteries are made directly by Fujitsu so with some luck may be decent.

  • +1

I Think I have enough batteries. No more wasting my money now

    • Until the next Eneloop deal that is

      • +1

Definitely not I have 4 packs of eneloops, and loads of normal batteries so I'm set for now, only thing I could do with is a charger, they offer us so many batteries but stuff all chargers :)

        • Not much use in having rechargeable batteries without a charger, Trent mate!

        • @CheapCharlie: Yeah I do have 1 but I want another charger so I can do heaps at once :)

  • Dick Rocks!

  • Has the deal expired? Tried using the code, but got nothing.

  • still works

  • Nah… just ordered..
