  • Can't be bothered to read the fine print, but is the prize in AUD?

    • Yep!

  • 1 x $1000000 (or share of) OR 5 x Kogan Agora HD Mini 3G Tablet (5x$189=$945)

One of the betting companies have a similar bet. Pay $10, guess the top 10 and receive $25mil.

If the whole population of Australia guessed different, still unlikely to win. (I cbf working out the odds, but i'm sure it's more than 25m:1 - but hey, it's free to enter :)

Ozlotto: 7 Winning Numbers is 1 in 45,379,620.

  • Worth a punt, eh?

  • Anyone good on statistics or probability ?
From my high school 'rithmetic 30 yrs ago I calculate the odds as 1 in 7,000 billion
That's 1 chance in 7,117,005,772,800 being 24! to 10 places (Not sure how to represents that mathematically anymore)
    But it is 24x23x22x21x20x19x18x17x16x15 = 7,117,005,772,800

So if everyone in the word entered one valid entry Mr Krogan would still have only 1 chance in 1,000 of losing his money. Pretty good odds for the free advertising me thinks but good on him, he knows his numbers!

    • Well, that would be true if we're talking about a completely random draw from 24 numbers, but the odds here should be somewhat better than that, as some horses are more likely to be in the top 10 than others.

      • Also in the terms and conditions it says that only 1,000,000 entries will be accepted.

But for free entry it's worth a shot :)

      • I picked a different letter for every horse.

  • entered! Wish me luck hah

  • Would be interesting to see if he took out insurance on the off chance that someone does pick the winning 10, I wonder how much that would cost through an insurer.

  • Boo, one of my horses has been scratched. No $1mil for me :(
