People who meet the posting guidelines generally don't get trolled.

        People generally value their time.

If you know there is a good bargain or two in a sale, catalog or store, it's a good idea to mention one or even two bargains, in the title, and provide direct links where possible, to those items.

          @cristtos:

Just find an item that's the best price comparable to the competition.
          - Did the item you want become cheaper when the sale started?
          - How much $$$ did you save on this item vs the competition?

Up to sales can be hit and miss without a few headline items.

    • this washing machine with $100 cashback is amazing offer. with free delivery and all that. I was about to buy one, but my broken washing machine decided to work again. So cant justify the buy :(

      • Even better, get Good Guys to beat the price under their Lowest Price policy. Cashback still applies

      • FYI I have been watching this machine online for a little while. It was $633 even before this sale so no change to price unfortunately.

    • I believe this fridge is great value as well:

      • Same price as The Good Guys so it's not a huge deal. Free delivery is the kicker for AO here.

        • if they did not have same price you would be able to use this pricing to get a discount from GG or JB so they took preventive action :) (IMHO)

        • @cristtos: Yep. Probably right!

  • I live in Armidale NSW and Appliances Online say :

I'm in the market for a cooktop and had a look at AO. So here is the actual savings.

Arc Electric Cooktop ICC6GE2 Was $399 last week, now $397 (save $2 or .6% off).

Omega Electric Cooktop OC64KZ Was $337 last week Now $333 (Save $4 or 1.2% off)

600mm Chef Electric Cooktop EHC647UC Was $519 last week Now $459 (Save $60 or 11.6%)

AO has great service and great prices. This is certainly a sale but as a deal the savings are quite small.

  • AO has good service in the sense that they deliver free and take away old product but they jack up their prices and inflate their RRP. It's only a matter of time before they end up at the ACCC.

The Samsung SRS580DHLS was released in 2012 with a rrp of $1999. It would be fair to say that $371 off rrp is ok considering this fridge is now old.

However, the 676L Samsung SRS676GDHLS was released in Oct 2013 with a rrp of $2295. This was one year ago. Appliances Online now get a rrp of $3499 with an increase of $1204 over the small space of one year.

The good guys have this same fridge (the Samsung SRS676GDHLS) for $2598, which is $131 more and it isn't on sale. So it makes me question the authenticity of the information on AO's website. If the good guys aren't on sale, then this fridge is only $131 off and not $1032 as stated at AO.

I have been looking at fridges for a while and AO actually changes their RRP to suit themselves and the %'s they stick in their sales. It's kind of disappointing. They say that they quote the manufacturer's RRP but they're lying unless the manufacturer is always altering their RRP, ie., making it higher and lower. The only reason no one jumps up and down about AO's dirty practices is they are more a big box store and not as much turnover as DS.
