  • I was looking at this last night.
Trying to compare booking the flight using ANZ's rewards points VS transferring to Virgin points and then booking using Virgin points.

I think turned out to be cheaper using ANZ's rewards points / not much difference.

    No Citibank again. What douchebags.

    • does Citibank Australia even issue an AMEX?
oh apologies, this isn't AMEX exclusive deal

    • There was last year. Must have been the amount of Ozbargainers signing up for signature and platinum cards.

      • They dropped off starting from middle of last year. Oh well, mostly redeem KF points anyway.

  • omg why is CBA left out… i've been waiting for this :(

  • Looks like westpac altitude is included this time but was excluded last time?!?

  • Last time I looked into this, transferring from ANZ to Velocity (even with the bonus) & using points for giftcards (which is what I use it for), was 4x times worse off!
So make sure you do the calculations on points value, depending on how you redeem them.

  • Thanks, been waiting for this so I can cancel my bank of Melbourne card. The (westpac/st George) service is incredibly crap and hey keep trying to sell things to me, or even friends visiting the branch to deposit money…

That wouldn't even bother me so much, but seriously, half a velocity point per dollar? No thanks, some cards give 3 points these days!

It's always the cards with huge annual fees that get priority. Nearly every Citibank cardholder ain't paying a fee for rewards what u expect.

  • Do points that get transferred to Velocity have an expiry date?

    • Yes, if your account remains "inactive" for 3 years straight.
