  The quality on these aren't like the old ones. Anyone know if they moved the production overseas ?

  My husbands only one are tough like chainmail, but the new ones develop holes where the toes are.

    Yup several years ago production moved to China completely (Pacific Brands had mixed manufacturing).

    Holeproof is now majority (100%?) made overseas.

    I actually have a pair of these copper socks from…6 maybe 7 years ago that are perfectly wearable.

      Not sure if it's connected, but 10 bucks delivered for 3 pair - and then commenting that the quality has gone downhill - is possibly a sign that Australians want their cake and eat it too.

      I'm not flaming commenters in this thread, although quality vs price always has a long term trade off. Mind you, offshore production obviously doesn't mean rubbish quality, is just we still pay for it. Case in point, offshore produced bamboo socks are great, just not cheap.

      These would be fine: just don't expect bamboo qualities.

  Please don't buy explorers, unless you want your socks to be stiff like card board. I switched to bamboo socks 2 years ago and I have never looked back. They are soft (weird for a timber fibre I know) they keep your feet dry and not smelly and they last.

    The stiff like cardboard issue started after production moved to China. Guess the QC guy screwed up.
    They are all good again now though, bought some from woollies for the same price a couple of months ago.
