Great deal on the X-E1 and the 18-135 super zoom, which is more or less as good as it gets for that kind of lens. The lens is weather resistant and has 5 stop OIS.

Cheapest price for the XF 18-135 alone is $839 after cash back from Camera Pro. So you are essentially getting a camera with pro image quality (if not quite pro speed/practicality) for $160, which is nuts.

Available in store. Shipping from site $15.90.

  • 18-135mm is nice, the F3.5-5.6 isn't. Bitter experience has taught me that a zoom lense with an aperture that varies over the zoom length is a horribly frustrating thing to deal with. Sorry, I don't mean to rain on your parade, but after buying the (then) $11,000 Canon L zoom lense with the aperture 'range' that I have in the back of the cupboard here somewhere, I swore I'd devote my life to warning people off of that sort of thing! :-) A long zoom lense that has a fixed aperture over the whole zoom will cost more, but the relative lack of frustration is worth the extra dollars! :-)

    • +3

It's a lens for travel, and for people shooting outside in daylight. The weather resistance is a big feature. As is the 5 stop OIS.

Of course the primes are way better, and of course the upcoming 50-140 2.8 is better. But that lens is also twice as heavy and twice as large, and more than twice the price.

It all depends what you want it for.

    • Can you name a 28-200mm equiv constant aperture zoom lens?

    • Agree. Prime lens are the right things to buy.

  • I read that the OIS on this lens is awesome…
The X-E1 however is slow to focus but it's practically a freebie with the lens… good find.

  • Not much point bundling a weather sealed lens with a non weather sealed body. I think the 18-55mm kit is still better, and it also happens to be cheaper.

  • For the price there is nothing to complaint….as long as you have the x-t1 already. Good combo for travel and all-general-purpose with weather seal.

You can alway sale the body….for at least 200 aud i think.

    Pros :
    Weather seal
    OIS
    Built

    Cons:
    f3.5-5.6
