t25, I had problems trying to download using my own phone using iOS 8.1, however when I used my partner's phone on iOS 7.1.1 all of them went thru fine. I then did a restore purchases on my iOS 8 phone (same Apple ID) and they came across OK…

  • Extremely impressive tech, AND useful

  • It's a very entertaining app! I got it last time and was amazed watching the signs and posters around the office translate into English!

  • Was worth the 370+ upvotes in the last deal. For those who already have the app, the language packs will automatically be activated for free :) Great post, Great App! Thanks

It looks kinda like languages will always be free now based on "what's new" section in Google Play?

Confirmed within the app. This isn't really a deal since it looks like they'll always be free now. It also looks like they've been free for 6 months since the app hasn't been updated since May.

    • Yeah when it was free 6 months ago I seem to remember the app description on Google Play said they've been bought by Google and now all language packs will be free forever.

edit: looks like we might be wrong. A few web pages in May said the language packs were temporarily free. World Lens website seems to reflect that too.

edit2: …can't find any recent news announcing they are free again though, so I'm inclined to think they've been free since May.

Was invaluable in Germany while enjoying Oktoberfest.

  • Word lens has been acquired by Google earlier this year making it free since… even though it's for a "limited time" I doubt Google will start charging people to use it.

  • it crashed on my iphone 6 plus. updated and it is still not working.

    • Works perfect on my iP6. Try re-booting the phone.
