they will price match but won’t give another 5% off because HT has the same parent company as OW.
So no 5% discount at OW?
never heard that one before, and I previously have had no troubles getting the 5% with price matching HT
despite being the same parent company, they are still separate businesses that more or less compete with each other
I also have had no problem getting OW to price-match-minus-5% against a HT advertised deal.
E.G. That's what I did back in May, when HT had the MS Wireless Laser Mouse 6000 for $32.95 and OW sold it to me for $31.30.
From feed-back across this site, OW staff/management seem to apply the advertised policy unequally.
I've always been able to get the PM-5% at any of the OW stores I've shopped at in Brisbane (providing I'm willing to wait while staff verify the deal/availability - which is only reasonable), no matter how great the price difference.
E.G. Samsung ML-2010D3 (genuine) laser printer toner cartridge:
$129.80 @ OW
$49 @ MSY
OW PM-5% = $46.55
Perhaps I've just been lucky???

Agreed I got OW to match a TOMTOM GPS 930 advertised on HTs website and then they took another 5% off. Ive had OW match HT and do the 5% many times over, never an issue.
Buffer is 16MB so if you're looking for 32MB hold it… There's a few hard disks currently on OzB so have a look around.
i have the same drive but the NAS version, i also think it's a little on the noisy side.
good price though
Same price as the 1TB WD….I have both the Lacie and the Western Digital. Both good price. The Lacie drive seems to be a Hitachi drive well at least mine is. It has a slightly faster transfer rate compared to the WD but is louder because the WD is completely silent. However i prefer the WD because it turns on and off with the computer where as the Lacie one doesn't but has a power switch.
