  I bought one of these last time around, build is decent, tough, have dropped it a few times with no damage. Very light and responsive however mine is Google Play Edition

  Battery is decent but not great and same goes for screen. I had the New iPad and both battery and screen where better

  I bought the google play edition last time as well. No complaints, works well, good battery life. Screen is a little more natural in colour than the super bright supersaturated screens we see now. Means it is not as good outside in the sun, but in my opinion if you are outside, stop looking at your tablet:)

  For the price I am not sure what would be better. Really comes down to whether you like the 8" format, which for me is a winner as it is a big enough step up from a phone to have useful browsing, reading and gaming, without being as large as a laptop or 10" monster.

  Good price, I got mine a couple of months ago from ebay when they had the 15%(?) off weekend. So got it for around $256 delivered at that time.

  Downgraded from ipad 10" and have been very happy with it. No major issues at all. Tried the cyanogen mod before settling for the stock kitkat firmware as described here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MoDNXyF_ziU
