  • This is just the AV adapter.
Need to buy a HDMI adapter separately to receive signal from AV adapter and connect to TV.

  • Is that any good to bridge my brother existing router that has dns lock? So I can access dns change on this one?

  • Can this be used as a WIFI router or extender?

Does anyone know if this supports alternate firmware or not? dd-wrt lists some models starting with F7D4, but not F7D4550.

Second question: Will this act as a wireless access point if you connect one of the ethernet ports to a router? The description makes it sound more like a wireless bridge.

From what i read this basically allows an ethernet device to get a ip address wirelessly. Ie plug network cable from tv into belkin device —> gets ip address from existing wireless router. Pretty limited application but might be good for those who don't want to run ethernet devices over power or an extra long cable. I don't believe that it would allow for use as a wireless extender but happy to be proven wrong.

No mention of ScreenLink on the box…it says it's a "Universal 4 Port Adapter - Wireless Bridge"

…although the sticker on the underside of the device itself says "ScreenLink 4 Universal AV Adapter".

Took under 5 minutes to set up, and then connected the HTPC and Xbox 360 to two of the four network ports, and now have internet in the family room.

    Awesome deal for $12 :)
