  • I think you are limited to 3 sims per person to be registered to your name? is that right? or am i just making it up..

    • Wrong.

You can register as many as you like.

I have 25 registered to my name & address.

      • +2

by law, you can only have 5 active sims
Your going to be on ASIO's list with all the new terror laws

        • +1

          Wrong.

You can legally have & Activate as many SIMs as you want:

          "
          Question:
Is there a limit on the number of prepaid mobile services a customer can purchase?

          Answer:

No. However a greater level of identification is required when a customer reaches 5 or more prepaid mobile services.*
          "

And, by the way - ASIO doesn't care!

And, by the way - ASIO doesn't care!

Really, ill make sure i tell them that

        • +1

          Der…

You won't know who they are, in order to tell them!

          They are secret, remember.

          @shinnyhappy:

          haha .. true

        • You will know who they are when your front door goes in, lol

      • "Sorry, you cannot purchase more than 4 Pre-paid products within six (6) months. Please amend your order." seems to be only an honor system thou. Wife purchased 6 Vodfone sims in 1 transaction last week with out any problems. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/168094

        • +1

You can purchase as many as you want from a Retailer like IGA.

  • +3

Where do you acquire the SIM for free? Seems the deal is moot without a free SIM.

  • +2

OP, I'm trying the code "FREE OPTUS SIM" and I get an error.

  • +1

    The sim still costs $2

  • +2

    Not free. $2 :)

  • "Get another new SIM, Activate it, and get another day for free."

Technically you are only saving the first $2, as it is $2 each day to buy a new SIM just like it is $2 each day to use unlimited plan.

So, this deal is a deal of saving a whopping $2.

    • can use that money to goto the $2 shop

    • Wildstone,

      What are you on about?

  • There is always a catch on Free stuffs. Some got 1000+ votes, some don't. in your case, unfortunately nobody believes is a great deal.

    • Wrong.

SOME people believe it is a great deal!

  • +3

Not really free if you're paying $2 for the SIM anyway.

  • +1

    $2 required, not free

  • +1

    Offer is not new either.

    • Yes, it is.

It was only announced 2 weeks ago.

You never used to get a FREE DAY before on Optus.

  • +1

Seems painful - you'd have to buy 30 sims a month - assuming the IGA had 30 sims in stock, then you're paying $60 a month ? Optus already have a $60 unlimited call/sms deal?
I'm sure there'd be a fair use T&C somewhere too..

    • They don't enforce 'fair use' across multiple SIM cards.

They only enforce 'fair use' against a single SIM card.

  • +2

This is a much better deal that seemed to get passed over http://www.optus.com.au/shop/prepaid/sim-card/10-combi

    • +1

      That's a VERY good offer!

      That's 6x Total Days of $2 Unlimited Calls, SMS & 3GB of data (500gb x 6):

      1x FREE DAY
      5x $2

      For only $5

    • Sorry meant to post this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/169148 from myisk on 10/11/2014 this is very good for use on a dual sim phone
