Yeah probably a bad choice of name giving the budget version a higher model number.
Actually, I think that the sensor is the same size, but the CMOS version is better. Anyhow, think of it a bit like the old S95 (that I used to have) only more plastic and unable to shoot raw.
yeah the sensor is the same size.. and yeah it's more of an S95 upgrade (wider lens and more zoom).. perhaps RAW can be added using CHDK.. a problem with the S95's video recording is no zoom or autofocus.. but apparently users have added that feature using CHDK.. also the S200's video recording is only 720 (like the S95)
anyways here's a comparison of the features between the S95/S200/S120
all in all this is a great price for a pocket camera with good low light image quality
Definitely a good price for a better than average point & shoot - note that this is not better than the S110/S120 although at first glance you would assume the S200 should be at least 80 better than say the S120….. But, it doesn't do raw, has a smaller CCD rather than CMOS sensor, 720p video only etc.
