Dell Inspiron15 3000 HD Laptop 8GB RAM AMD A8-6410 Radeon R5 $539.40 Delivered @ Dell eBay Store

60

Been searching for the right notebook for weeks and I finally took the plunge on this one.

Was able to apply this 10% off coupon from eBay.com.au and apply it to Dell's ebay listing. I believe the coupon code was sent to random individuals registered on eBay.com.au? not quite sure.

Ha ha… some clown paid $899 for it a few weeks back…

    • even more astounding when you notice it has R5 integrated graphics, non backlit keyboard and the crap-tastic 1366*768 lcd!

  • Not a cracking good deal IMO.

  • 100Mbit LAN (No gigabit)
    2.4Ghz WiFi (no dual band)
And probably one slot for RAM.

  • can anyone find some good reasons to buy this?

    just had a closer look at specs and came to this short review and conclusion;

pros; usb 3(which should be standard these days anyway!)
it's a Dell Inspiron, should have good service and support

    cons; 1366*768 lcd
    cpu/gpu so-so
    non backlit keyboard
    8gb ram(wait, it's single not dual channel!)
4 cell battery(should be 6 cell for this size)

bottom line, you would have to try really hard to do worse, maybe a dodgy brothers refurb that 'just fell off the turnip truck'! lol

Feel free to post a laptop with Full HD, high end CPU/graphics, backlit keyboard, 8GB dual channel RAM and long battery life for around the same money. I have such a laptop, but it cost 2.5x the cost of this laptop posted.

i'm still looking! but sure, 'horses for courses' you pay more, you (should) get more, i would rather buy a better spec 2nd hand/refurb from reputable seller than a new one with these specs, i mean, what about re-sale value, if you buy this for $540, after a year the value would plummet faster, you might be lucky and get $200!

edit; as a example, if i had a total budget of $540, for $539 delivered you can get this Dell refurb
        Inspiron 15 Laptop 4th Generation Intel Core i7-4500U Processor (4M Cache, up to 3.0 GHz), 2GB 8670, F15/C1
        4GB Single Channel DDR3L (4GBx1)
        500GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
        Windows(R) 8.1 (64Bit) English
        8X DVD+/-RW Drive Tray Load
        Integrated 10/100 Fast Ethernet
        AMD Radeon(TM) HD 8670M 2GB DDR3
        Dell 2.0 Speakers with Waves MaxxAudio(R) 4
        65 WHr, 6-Cell Battery Dell Wireless-N 1705 @ 2.4GHz + Bluetooth 4.0
15.6 inch LED Backlit Display with Truelife and HD resolution (1366 x 768) Black

has half the ram and hdd and same lcd but way better cpu, graphics, and 65wh battery instead of 40wh

I would rather anyone related to me buy the Intel variant instead, even if I end up paying for the difference in price. :)
