  • cool. anyone know which kind of notebook (spec, screen, etc) i need to buy if i want to run a lot of HDR processing?

  • Thank you. The code didn't work for some reason the first time but did the second.

    • Cheers. You beat me with the edited post, but you should get this screen after entering the code.

  • Thanks for this. Used to use this before Photoshop had built in HDR.

    • how about lightroom? photoshop is overkill for me but i want to try learn using lightroom

      • +1

Lightroom doesn't have HDR or photomerge.

But if you want to do basic things like shadows/highlight recovery, adjust contrast, saturation, sharpening, noise reduction etc lightroom is definitely easier to learn

        • Kinda. You can do image merging via plugins.

LR/Enfuse works really, really well and costs a couple of bucks.
Nik HDR Efex is excellent, but costs money.

  • It did not ask for any code when I used the direct link above given by nkahoang (mac version)

  • -2

Photomatix is responsible for a 95% of the shitty HDR infecting the web. Unless you are actually trying to produce clown vomit, you are better off using Photoshop or Nik HDR efex.

    • I agree that a lot of the "popular" HDR images seen online are way to overdone.

  • Thanks…I have an older version but this may be worth a whirl

  • This is just what I need! Thanks TA!

  • Pretty sure these are standalones. They also have Aperture, Lightroom (and photoshop?) plug-ins so you don't have to break your post processing workflow.

  • Great timing, just took a bunch of bracketed photos on holidays, would have been looking for something like this soon.
