  • Hi OP, Was there any mention of the edition with the gamecube controller adapter / gamecube controllers?

    • No i believe this is JB and EB only and the sad thing is that EB have told me it is sold out and JB no longer have it on their site. I could be wrong but I can not believe I missed it

      • Nintendo Australia posted on their Facebook page (either yesterday or today, I can't quite remember) that the adapters can be purchased from customer service for $29.95. So don't despair! =)

        • does Nintendo AU provide free shipping?

        • @astroberryz: I believe so. On their Facebook page they said it would cost $29.95 for "orders shipped in Australia". I assume this meant the price included postage.

      • Also, the adapter is still listed on EB Games' website. Maybe try preordering it online? I don't think pick up in store is available any more though.

        • Thanks guys I am aware I just like the collector boxes etc cause I collect nintendo stuff. All good as it was not too special or anything

      • +1

EB Games listing that's the one isn't it? still listed on EB with game and adaptor

  • What are the dates on this? Starting on the 29th?

    • 27th I think but smash and amiibo are not out until 29th

  • Hmmmmmmmmm Bayo collection is tempting…

    • Do it you will not regret it trust me. Amazing

"GREAT NEW GAMES FOR KIDS!" - Buy Bayonetta!

  • +7

Great new games for kids?!?!? As much as I love Bayonetta (easily in my top 5 ever), I certainly wouldn't let kids play it.

    • Hey its still better then them playing CoD all day

      • +3

eh, [one game inappropriate for children] is better than [another game inappropriate for children] doesn't mean much

        • +5

It was a joke but bayonetta got a lot of hate for being too sexual yet violence is accepted in games. Since when is a provocative woman worse than shooting innocent people in an airport?

        • @Dany34:
Since living in Australia. You must be thinking of France or Sweden.

  • where is this catalog online? good find OP

    • Not sure. Someone posted it on facebook and I thought I would share. Credit goes to them.

      • +1

8 days in advance is pretty good.. must be someone on the inside.

  • Dam no Super smash Wii U Bundle from Big W :(

  • Can I use the 20% voucher in jbhifi for their amiibos?

    • For the purposes of this Section, "Eligible Goods" means:
      Recorded music compact discs;
Recorded music, film or TV DVDs or Blu-Ray discs; and
Recorded computer game discs or game console discs

Do not think so. Still hoping big w or kmart beat that price. Stay tuned

      • Dang but for 15 bucks that's not too bad. Same price of the funko pops I collect

  • +2

Smash is $55.20 at JB if you use the voucher.
May be able to pricematch and use the voucher, some people here have done that. Though you're not meant to.

    • Should be fine done it twice already

    • at JB if you use the voucher.

It says valid for one week, but does not mention the dates ?

      • +1

yeah it also says it's unique when it isn't.
I've read that the voucher changes every month, so we might have to use an updated one if purchasing after November.

    • Are you able to be sneaky and use this voucher more than once? I already used mine to get Bayonetta 2.

      • Easy solution would be to go to another JB.
If you're using it again after a few weeks they probably won't remember that you used it, but who knows.

        • But when they scan the barcode it doesn't come up saying 'redeemed' or something?

        • Nah it's multi use.

  • +1

    hmm bayonetta is sold

    PS4 can wait another month

  • +2

Dangit! Still no cheap Wii U consoles!

…wish I bought that basic bundle a while ago. Anyone know if there's any stores still clearing them out in West Melbourne?

    • -3

      same.

lets be honest the mario bundle is too expensive for 398. should be like 250.

    • I should of got the Wii U Premium bundle when Toys R Us were clearing them out recently :s

  • All cheaper at JB with the 20% off voucher except Amiibo. But thanks OP. Was going to go to target for Amiibo but this looks to be the best bet

    • Yer smash would be about 2 bucks cheaper with code but for the hassle I would rather support Big W and their good wii u prices.

Captain toad retails for $60 can only imagine the price

  • So $46.40 after pricematch at JB Hifi and using the 20% off voucher? Holy cow.

    • -1

you won't be able to use the 20% off if they price match another store…

      • Some people have but I doubt it will work at most places. Especially JBs I go to

      • You don't even know what the voucher is yet you are saying you can't do it?
        Goddamnit jv.

    • Where did the 20% off voucher come from, will they accept a printout of it, and will it still be valid by the time Smash comes out?

      • -1

So many questions… So few answers…….

        • +11

Tip for the JB Price Match + 20% Voucher….

Go to the game section at JB and get them to price match. Don't mention or show you have a 20% voucher.
They should print out an order/total with the revised pricing and hand that to you.
Take that to the counter, after they put the price in and/or scan the paper, take out your 20% Off voucher and get them to scan it.

This has worked for me, better when they are busy as well.

The voucher is obtained by signing up for a free 1 month trial for the JB NOW Music service, it is emailed to you shortly after.
The actual code is not unique, there is no expiry or way to check an expiry and most stores want the actual printed out voucher rather than a scan.

Good luck and thanks OP for the post and thanks jv for being jv.

        • +1

Been to about 4 stores and all have been fine with scanning my phone

      • you sign up to JB now and they email you the voucher. Yes they accept a print out. It is valid for a week

        • -2

It is valid for a week

          which week?

        • @jv:
a week after you get the voucher from signing up

        • +3

Nope it's valid forever until the promotion ends. All the T&C's are lies.

        • +1

          @ajax7:

Kinda sorta. They have changed the barcode on us at least once to try to enforce a time limit.

        • I've been using the same barcode since the beginning. Still working

  • Be at Big W Saturday 8:00am for Smash Bros or miss out!

    • I'll be there at 7:55am, just to make doubly sure :3

      • 7:50…

        • 7:45 and will purchase 4 copies, c you guys around~ :)

        • @cloverke: Oh, it's on.

        • +1

@cloverke: Well I will buy ALL the Amiibos! I will only leave you Yoshis.

        • @FrankMcFuzz:
Thanks, I love Yoshi the most!

  • Wonder if EB would price match even thou I pre ordered my Aiimbo?

  • So can you pre-order at Big W at all? Or just somehow secure a copy?

EDIT: Obviously not associated with Big W - just got a bit spastic when I clicked the post button.

  • Nice! Cheap Amiibos.

    • Cheaper at target by $1, just saying. Thats almost x1 Amiibo if you plan to buy all

  • o__O Planning to buy the game digitally ..

Went to EB last night and they really are sold out of adapters and said you can only get the Game + Adapter from the online EB Site. But you can't get the adapter seperately. Which means I'm screwed on day one.

Anyone know where I can source an adapter to play on GC remotes?

    • +1

But you can't get the adapter seperately

Think you can get it for $30 delivered from Nintendo

      • Just called up Nintendo support today and talked to a really helpful rep. I bought and paid for the adapter over the phone ($29.95) and was told that they are aiming for delivery this coming Thursday or Friday (before release on Saturday).

        • +1

I am so deeply pleased by this news. Thanks :).

  • Can't you just use normal Wii pro controllers? Why the need for the adapter?

    • +1

the adaptor is required for gamecube controllers

      • He meant why buy an adaptor to use a game cube controller? Just buy a wii u pro controller instead?

    • +1

You must be new to smash. Its gamecube controller or it nothing :)

    • I already have 3 GC controllers and I prefer using their layout. Plus with 8 Player Smash, the more controller options the better.

  • How much is Sonic Boom gonna be? the pic glared.
