Jetstar 2 for 1 Japan Sale - Tokyo $447 Return from Melbourne, $377 from Cairns

2680

Must book for a minimum of 2 passengers.

Various travel periods from Jan to Oct 2015. Dates vary depending on origin and destination.

Examples

  • Cairns to Tokyo $377 per person return
  • Melbourne to Tokyo $447 per person return
  • Gold Coast to Tokyo $451 per person return
  • Cairns to Osaka $351 per person return

Other cities to/from Australia and Japan are available. Refer to website for more details.

It's probably best to treat the "2 for 1" bit as the name of the sale only rather than the idea that one person can fly for free.

  • Is it 2 for 1 or just the low price? Three tickets are also the same price. Am I missing something?

    • You get the discounted prices when booking for 2 or more people. No cheap flights for lonely solo travellers like me!

      • Let's go to Japan quislor!

  • Was already planning on going to japan mid Februrary and was quoted @ $2500 for 2 people Brisbane to Tokyo
Just brought tickets for 2 from Gold coast to Tokyo for $1300! Thanks OP

  • Bought one way Mel-Tokyo for 2 people for $500+

  • I'm getting a weird orange triangle with an exclamation mark when I try to find flights…

    What does this mean?

    • Does not compute, cannot access mainframe.

    • Getting the same problem.

    • You guys probably clicked through the promo page where some flights show the one-way arrow. To get a return leg you have to do it through the home page.

  • Jetstar website search engine not working

  • why does the description advertise as return flights when the deal is only one way on the JQ banner?

  • Anyone want to split a ticket from Gold Coast to Tokyo departing Mid February and return Early March?

    • I meant Late February, not Early March. Should be ~$435 pp :)

  • same….search is broken for me

  • Jetstar noob here, do I book for 2 adults? or just 1 and receive another 'free'? Thanks in advance :3

    • Select 2 adults and you will automatically see the discounted price.

  • Thanks OP. Booked 4 adults MEL - TOKYO - MEL departing after mid may for 12 days. Excellent deal.

Also, the flight search option through the sale page was not working. So, I went through the home page and it worked fine.

  • Damn, have 2 weeks annual leave booked for the end of the year and trip to Japan would of been great at sale fare prices but guess that's too optimistic.

Anyone interested in flying to Japan ex. Sydney in Sept 2015 and want to join to take advantage of the 2-for-1 sale fare offer?

  • Just booked my honeymoon! Thanks!

  • all the friday night flights are very popular!
i was half way booking and someone booked first, and I lost my spot! :((((((((((((

who are you! u beat me to it!

    • The same happened to me! Seems like we are in the same boat.

  • Anyone recommend a prepaid sim that has roaming with data I can buy to bring with me. Be very useful for gps n the odd translation when I get in a pickle

    • You don't need a SIM card to use GPS (use offline map appslike CitiMaps2Go), and the same goes for offline translation apps. That said, it's hard for any such app to keep up with Google Maps/Translate.

    • You can buy this at the airport. http://www.so-net.ne.jp/prepaid/en/

      • Awesome will complement my Z3 going all Sony in Japan.

  • If I am flying from Sydney to Tokyo via Gold Coast, will my luggage be checked through all the way to Tokyo?

If I have GST refund, will I need to claim it at Gold Coast rather than Sydney (as the first leg will be domestic flight).

    Thanks

  • Any one used this site for accommodation? www.airbnb.com.au Seems like some good deals, any one got feed back?

    • +2

It's airbnb, this is this the first time you've heard of them? It's basically people sub-letting their own homes, and therefore is hit and miss. Rather stay at a hotel

  • Having a bit of problem here! Travelling from Melbourne to Tokyo on 1st Apr 2015 and returning 7th/8th Apr 2015. When I select flights for two return, the total price comes up to $1992. Its costing me $1100 roughly to depart from Melb to Tokyo and flights to comeback costing around 890. How can I fix this problem, any help will be appreciated!

    • Those dates are not on sale

      • Just realised it after reading terms and conditions! Thank you for your prompt reply tho! :)

  • +1 OP.

Flying 1st March - 21st March, Melb <-> Tokyo. Came in to approx. $1344 for 2 people after all the "extra" charges. Still a damn bargain when similar flights from other airlines come in to over $2k with layover. The Jetstar flight is direct and on a Dreamliner.

For those that are curious of the break down per person:

    • $447: Flight
    • $130: Economy Plus Bundle (Return)*
    • $70: 20kg baggage (Return)
    • $25: Credit Card fee (Per Booking)
      = $672
      = $1344 (x2)

*We went for the "Economy Plus" add-on for $65pp one way, this gives you free date change, meal, seat selection and 3900 FF points. We figured for the 7800pts per person, that's 200 points shy of a QANTAS flight on the east coast, which we do regularly, the other stuff is a bonus. Thoughts?

    • $25 credit card fee? what? It used to be $7 which was already a rip off

      • Ack. Yep. That's what I thought too. You do have the option to use POLI or BPAY to avoid this though.

  • I think it's better to go here to see which dates are available:
    http://www.jetstar.com/au/en/special-offers/japan2for1

Some months don't seem to have the sale e.g. April for Sydney.

Does anyone know the exact steps to get the sale? The price for me is always for 2 passengers.

    • +1

The eligible flights will just be discounted. You have to select 2 or more people travelling to get the discount.

Choose your dates and then choose flexible with dates, it will show you the discounted fares around your dates.

  • 13 hour transit in Cairns on the way back from Tokyo to Perth… makes me hesitant to book.

    • Free Cairns holiday included ?

  • Good opportunity for 'WOOFING' throughout Japan.

Anything left for Ex. from Syd?

  • W00t!

  • The flights for our 2 for 1 deal to Singapore this March got canned. The suggested new flights they have offered give us one night in Singapore. Think I'll be cancelling that and try our luck with this Japan deal.

  • Any Solo Travelers looking to book and split the price. Leaving from Gold Coast I'm flexible on dates but would prefer April \ May for 2 weeks outside of golden week.

    http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2282.html

    • Would you be interested in Mid February to Late February (i'm looking around the 12th until the 27th which would be $451.5 return)

  • Gold Coast - Tokyo Narita direct flights here. 970$ with a 20kg luggage.

    Looking forward :)

  • Thanks OP Just booked with 20 min to spare!!!

    Looking forward to heading back!!!

  • Anyone know if flying via Japan is a good way to head to Europe?
