might take the offer to test out the theory.. "people have seen worms in the planet Uranus". surely 1300MP is the go.

      • scrap that idea. website says 13.0 megapixel. try feeling for them instead. you will sense the presence.

    • More like "can't see s**t capt'n", unless this smartphone is the size of a house.

  • Nice phone, how long is the delivery?

    • DHL shipping to Australia 3-5 day !

hmmm $5 off. so tempting! not

  • Question: With these phones and their funky Android UI, can you easily just install stock Android, or does it need to be supported somehow? Also, can you install Lollipop?

This looks like a pretty dope device for the money, plus the reasonable sized 5" HD screen is a bonus.

    • Huawei EMUI check the link : http://emui.huawei.com/

Because this is using Huawei's own SoC you'll probably never see a custom rom for it

Very interesting phone. Pity I just bought the refurb nexus 4 from kogan recently.

    • how's battery life going for you? Also is the camera acceptable? People complaining about those 2 things are putting me off

      • I've had 2 Nexus 4s and I can tell you that the battery life is ~a day and the camera is mediocre. It's probably the best value phone if you can get it for <$200 though.

Huawei …mmm very shifty company, after watching how they killed that American guy in Singapore.

I recommend that you get your information from reliable sources…..

before making bold statements about any company (Chinese or otherwise) and it's potential involvement in criminal acts.

Yes, it's a tragedy that someone that talented and in the prime of their life should die. Yes. the family want someone to blame. No, the evidence is apparently quite clear that for some time before taking his life he was depressed and was being treated for it. Yes, everyone thinks that the Chinese government has spies everywhere. Sounds like the cold war all over again.

The Chinese govt. were a major shareholder of Lenovo when it bought IBM's PC business and all sorts of spy conspiracy theories were floating around? Conspiracy theorists favourite target in recent years seems to be Chinese companies.

Huawei gear has the potential to spy on countries……did anyone consider Cisco, Nortel, Juniper, HP etc a spying threat? No, but equally their gear is/was capable of doing so too. So it's not the company or it's gear that should be considered a threat, but how the gear is being used/abused/hijacked or how poorly the customer secures it both logically and physically.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I have never had any involvement with Huawei other than owning some of their phones and tablets, just like I have owned Samsung, LG, Nokia, Sony etc phones & Asus/Google tablets.

  • GPU bit on the weaker side

    Mali-T628 MP4 600 MHz 76.8 GFlops

If you can live without LTE, try Xiaomi MI-3

    MSM8274AB 550 MHz 158.4 GFlops

  • i got this phone and is fine with the EMUI. good things is you can install the google play stores without root. speed wise is fine.
If people is interest in Huawei, should really have a look at the Mate 7, which just released in JB and HN. that phone is a beast!

  • I've also got this phone. For the money its an absolute steal, and extremely handy having the dual sim with 4g capability. Screen is very good, battery above average, micro sd, snappy and reponsive.

Emui is a bit dumbed down for my liking so I just installed Nova Launcher which provides a GUI almost identical to vanilla android. Win!

  • 4G not 100% compatible here, right?

    • I have the H60-L02 model and it works perfectly with both telstra and optus 4g

  • CPU is excellent, GPU is not great. Don't expect flagship-grade gaming performance. Camera's good but not great. Battery's ok. (BTW don't own the phone). For a bit more I would get this http://www.oppomart.com/phones/iuni-u3.html

    • Don't believe the iuni has Google play
