Curious, can this get you into trouble with the fun police?

    • +10

it can get you it trouble with the real police…

Just put it on a bland Camry, no-one will even notice.

        • Put it on a rattly old commodore and no one will care. :-)

      • I like what you say sorry for the wayward neg. Need new glasses or something. But really this sign is creeper than creepy. Do not pass go.

      • woosh! , jv

I just wanna put one of these bad boys on top of my car and play CRAZY TAXI!

    • Perfect! Fill the back seat with lollies and wait outside the primary school/
      What?

      Ya Ya Ya Ya Ya

    You talking to me?

      Iz dat wot chew want?

    • There's no one else here so you must be talking to me

  • -2

I reckon you'd be setting yourself up for at least a couple of charges with this bad-boy. Operating a taxi without a license, and driving a vehicle with something unsecurely attached to the roof, for a start; believe it or not, you're actually not allowed to attach large "cra-a-a-zy bargain" objects to your roof with a magnet, here in Australia.
And that's just if you get stopped by the jacks before anything actually goes wrong. Imagine if you have a rear-ender, and the "fun attachment" (of course) goes flying off the roof at speed, and kills someone. Hello manslaughter charge. So I reckon it's $10 NOT well-spent.

    Abort.

    Abort.

that's the least of your problems if you buy this thing….you'll have drunks chasing you up the street trying to car-jack you ;)

      • +1

I don't want to jack your car. Just want a free air conditioned ride… can we call it borrowing?

    • -4

load of bull crap. youre not operating a taxi if your not picking up customer and taking their money. all driving instructors have something unsecurely attached to their roof. this is no different to any roof signage

just had a visual of a car screeching to a halt not to hit a pedestrian, only they are killed by a "flying taxi" sign…the irony.

      • -3

        weight: 0.43kg…. sure

        • +2

What is the mass of a bullet… Sure

        • @pensionday: that is moving a lot faster and the force is concentrated in a small point. It would be more like injuring someone with a semi full small bottle of water

        • @coolhand: My sister is an Ambulance officer and she goes off if see's a small book on a back parcel shelf of a car. "I've seen a book take the top clean off a skull from that. They would have had almost no injuries due to their seat belt otherwise." And then she would go into quite graphic detail of what it injury looked like to her… In an impact seemingly light and non sharp things can be fatal.

    • Chuckle… negged for trying to warn people so that they would not get charged and/or kill someone. Gotta love OzB!
If you don't not agree, please don't refrain from not avoiding negging this comment too.

Just what I need for those lonely nights driving around Claremont.

    • free ride?

    • +1

Yep, was expecting someone would come up with that comment as I scrolled down the page………

  • Yeah..my party room has a new toy now!

  • taxi cam confessions, here i come!

  • All you need to start up your own FakeTaxi…ahem

  • Great another item for my man cave

  • +1

I think the idea is not to drive around all day with it on… but to put it on just before you pick up your early teens from school/soccer/parties in order to cause maximum embarrassment.

  • +1

If you could somehow rig this with a battery so the unit is self contained, much fun could be had on a Saturday night in the CBD.
Plonking these onto cars at traffic lights just to see how people react to drunks climbing into the back of their cars… hmmm.

  • Who can see someone ordering this, putting it on his car and then jumping on some forum bleating hard done by because he got done for it..?? :-(
