Man DWI are amazing. I ordered a phone off them on Sunday night and I received it on Wednesday! That's faster than a lot of local retailers I reckon!

    • I ordered one Tuesday and received next Tuesday, via DHL

    • yeah ordered ATH-M50x, and they shipped it on Wednesday, got here by friday. Amazing service :)

LOVEDWI_CHRISTMAS will give you another $5 off.

    • tried, no combined code

    • +2

or not, didn't realise you couldn't combine the codes, sorry.

  • I got this. Great phone. Only thing is the date connection doesn't work on Tpg. Bit annoying

    • +1

Any idea why? It should cover all the bands used by Optus. I'm on TPG and was thinking of getting the G3

      • Im on tpg and imported g3 works fine

    • Mine is with TPG as well. no problem with data.

      • Must be just me. I'll check with tpg tomorrow. It is very strange

Would a purchase from DWI be tax deductible? (phone is for business purposes)

Obviously would not be able to claim GST back but can you count gray imports as a business expense?

    • +3

Yes of course, just keep your receipts and as you said, you can't claim back GST as it is not a GST purchase.

  • So much temptation especially since lollipop has rendered my nexus 5 nearly useless

    • You for real bro? Everyone is talking it up from what I have heard.

      • My nexus 5 is suffering under lollipop
I thought it was just me but a quick google for: lollipop crash, battery drain, chrome crash lag showed that it's not just me

I've had apps including google apps crash again and again
Pressing the home button causes my screen to freeze up
Battery life is all over the place… I had 1.2 hours screen on time yesterday with minimal usage and WiFi

        • that's why i'm going to wait a few weeks before upgrading to lollipop

    • +1

Yeah, my (2012) Nexus 7 was also crippled by Lollipop. A factory reset did help but it's still nowhere near as quick as 4.4

    • +1

Lollipop has improved my Nexus 5 significantly so far!

    • interesting, I haven't had any issues with it on my Nexus 5. Though I flashed it manually (factory restore), so maybe restoring the phone might alleviate the issues.

      • Mayhaps! I'll just wait for the next update… Rather not factory reset

1hour 6mins SOT today… And majority of the day spent at work

  • Has DWI been forgiven yet?

  • +1

This or a Sony Z3 compact?

    • +1

      This.

    • The screen sizes and resolutions are so different! See if you can play with both in store and then decide because if you're coming from a smaller phone it's hard to imagine how big the G3 screen actually is. Plus you might be one of those people who can spot pixelation on the z3C's 720p screen and in that case the G3 may be the better choice.

Besides for that main difference in the screen they're both very capable phones at essentially the same price point and you won't regret either purchase.

      • If they're the same price point, the G3 is a much better phone. Bigger screen with higher pixel density, 801 processor. There's nothing the Z3C has on the G3.

        • They share the same CPU and ram.

Z3c has waterproofing, vastly better speakers and 6-8hrs SOT vs g3's 4-6 hrs. It's also very slippery like the iPhone 4

        • @jzdhgkd: I think the CPU and RAM are overkill for a 720p phone (the LG has 4x its resolution, at 1440p). It's not needed when lesser hardware will suffice. You're paying extra for little.

          If it's waterproofing you're after, I'd rather get a Z3.

        • @lostn: lol if this thread was about needs vs wants I would've recommended a $100 phone.

I went from a moto g to the z3c and even at 720p the extra power makes plenty of difference

        • @jzdhgkd: Suit yourself. I never had any lag issues on my 1080p phone with a Snap 800, which is weaker than the Z3C's.

Easily one of the best Android phone and best looking in 2014!

DWI is great when it comes to Android devices.

  • btw guys, upgraded from a Nexus 5 to this phone a month ago, and i don't regret it.

    • +1

the only thing i regret is the amount of crapware on this phone, but after a couple of hours of fine tuning i was happy

      • +2

Haha man it's funny how to people like us "a couple of hrs of fine tuning" is acceptable.

I just bought my partner an iphone the other day and she was complaining about having to click a few buttons on itunes to sync the new phone up to her old one and how "honestly it should be automated by now".

I'm still glad we aren't forced to deal with itunes though.

  • the code is not working for me ? anyone else?
