    • +7

lol, i thought this was a jug for drinking! This is for the water for an iron?

      • +2

thought the same… misleading design ! LOL

      • +1

nothing stopping you from drinking from the jug. from what i know its as good as drinking distilled water.

      • +1

I bought for the jug really.

      • +2

Damm, too busy to read the ad… Didn't realise it was for the iron… Bring on the Kris Kringle gifts…

      Question

Is the filtered water from IronCare water descale filter fit for drinking?

      Answer:

No. The water in the IronCare water descale filter is specially intended for use in your steam iron or steam generator. It is not intended for drinking or the preparation of food or beverages.

Do not consume the material inside the anti-calc cartridge.

  • -7

Cr@@@p. I think I bought all of the stocks (Qty: 5) found in Canberra.

    Me bad.

    • Maybe you should buy a 'Grammar for dummies' book also.

    • +1

you bought all stock from both ACT stores! What you gonna do with so many jugs? should have left few for fellow ACT Ozb.

      • I purchased one for myself and then I've got other family members clamouring for their own household. I wouldn't have known that the entire Canberra area DJ stocked <10 units.

        • Hope they all enjoy ironing!

        • @clarky:
They don't. But this is a cheaper alternative than getting those expensive de-scalers.

  • out of stock at NSW stores….

  • Out of Stock, in Vic also.

    This deal has now expired

  • +1

wait… so what is this exactly? I bought one… but thought it was just a drinking jug with a filter..

    • You're supposed to use distilled/filtered water in irons…

      • +3

What? Do we now have to buy an iron?

  • Missed out. Still, a great deal, thanks OP!.

  • More than likely a planned 'lost leader' item to have us all sign up! lol

  • Holy moly so cheap!! Thanks!

  • Pmsl iron. Who irons!!

  • Anyone think there may magically appear more stock today?

  • It seems they have replenished online stock.

  • The website showed this for me

The Retail Price or RRP displayed for this item is the original price instore and may not have applied immediately prior to this sale - an intermediate price reduction may have occurred

So not sure if they'll honour it

  • +1

FYI: Just got a call from DJ. They say the price is for those who purchased a flat iron from DJ. In other words, they've made a pricing mistake and DJ are trying their best not to honour it.

  • +1

lol, i just got a ready for pickup email ! Don't really want it since i won't be able to drink from it.

    • Just received mine too.

  • so we cant use this to drink?

  • I got a call from Kotara store saying that they don't have it in stock and will like me to come in store so that they can refund the one cent. Hmmm. We all seem to be getting different answers on why they are not honouring the sale.

  • says stock available on line but won't allow checkout so don't bother wasting your time. took me 10 mins to get through the whole process before it got to the end and said inventory prob!

  • +7

just received call from DJs. they will not be honoring the sale. When I asked about a refund they said, well we don't do refunds for 1 cent, however paypal has taken 1 cent from my account. I know it's not a lot of money but it's a principle thing. If they take my money and can't honor the deal, they should refund the money.

For the record, Carindale QLD's excuse for not honoring the deal is that it was suppose to be a gift with another purchase and it was a error on their website.

    • +1

      Classic.

    • Likewise but really am I going to waste my time taking whatever action I need to do to force them to repay the 1c.

My Caller said they would refund the 1c to my card, which I didnt have on me, so they said I can call back - but really that will cost me more anyway, so I will move on.

It was a 1 cent bet that didn't pay off.

But of course in principle, if I can buy anything at same price from another store my preference will be to the other store

    • This is correct. DJ cannot refund you a value of $0.01.

However, in my case DJ refunded me a value of $0.03. LOL!

    • +1

      I started a refund via paypal…

      • I will start mine in a couple of days. Make the bastards work.

  • +3

Just picked up from Glen Waverley VIC. Thanks OP

  • -1

The store said I'd have to go in for a refund too! Should we go to the ACC - false advertising? :o

  • +1

They asked me to come in and they would give me a "cash" refund. I told them that it wasn't worth the petrol and would just raise a dispute on Paypal.

  • Purchased one for $0.01 and just received this email:

"…I am sorry to let you know that the item you ordered is out of stock in all stores.
We are unable to refund to PayPal, but I will refund you 5c and post it to you with your refund docket…."

    Not too bad, haha.

    • Did they mean 5cent coin or 5cent gift card?

      • +1

I'm not sure, I assume a 5 cent coin haha

  • +1

I'm not going in to the store, PayPal dispute is easier. Make them do some work for my 1 cent joke. It will teach them not to make mistakes on their site again.

  • If anyone is keen, its still available at Bondi Junction!

  • hm I got an email telling me pick it up instore

  • just bought 1, pick up at bondi junction.

  • +1

    The f**k???

My order was honoured today at Robina, about 3-ish. Gave it to the landlord. Was honestly shocked they handed it over to be honest.

    • lucky you. i got the same call just now and i said to the caller that i'm happy to wait when the new stock arrives. she paused and then said would need to check on that. LOL

////////// Send emails to ACCC this kind of thing is common with David Jones and Dick Smith they are together.David Jones in electronics retail deal with Dick Smith.
I UNDERSTAND IF ITS ONE OR TWO BUT WHOLE ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS AND REGUALY WE HAVE THE PROOF ON OZ BARGINS AND OTHER SITES KEEP COMPLAINING TO ACCC FOR THEM TO DO SOMETHING.ITS NOT FAIR SELLING A PRODUCT ON LINE AND THE YOUR OUT OF STOCK OR ITS WRONG PRICING OR HAVING ONE PRICE ON PAGE ANOTHER IN CART.IF IT STARTS HERE WITH THESE SHIFTY COMPANYS THE REST WILL THINK THEY CAN DO IT ASWELL….
    PEOPLE POWER

    • Actually, pricing error is part of the terms and conditions you agree to every time you buy from these retailers.

    • +1

      ROFL and YELLING ACCCCCCCCCCCCC

  • -2

YOU MIGHT BE RIGHT SPACKBASE BUT IF YOU CAN SEE SOME ARE GETTING THEM AND SOME ARE NOT, ALSO I HAVE A CONFIRMED ORDER FOR THE JUGS ALSO SO IF IT WAS A PRICING ERROR IT SHOULD OF BEEN STOPPED THEN

    • +1

No need to yell at me

Considering these 2 posts are your first 2 on the thread, with no mention of a) A Thankyou to the OP in the first place, or b) Any report of a story from David Jones of what they said or did. You're just leaving us in the dark and screaming and yelling things.

We can see you, we really can.

      sigh

      • +1

Thanks to the person who reported this.

I ordered some and received a confirmation email. Today I got 3 phone calls.

1st Time - they rang and said they cant do the order because the price was a mistake. I told them that's there problem.

2nd Time - She rang bank and said it was human error and could offer me the jugs at the correct price with 10% off.

3rd Time - She rang bank and now said there was actually no stock and they wouldnt be getting any stock for a long time.

It's a joke they are giving out different reasons to people as seen from posts above. Some are getting them delivered some aren't.

        • Are you and "turbokinda" related, or one in the same person?

You both recently joined, 1 day apart, and have only posted in 2 different deals, but you both posted in the same deal, straight after 1 another.

See here. Not just simple coincidence.

          And again on this thread.

Or has ozbargain developed some strange echo?!

        • @Spackbace: he's my brother.

You asked for the background information so I gave it to you. He has more time than me so he can send out more posts.

  • -1

    //////////GO TO THE ACCC ////////
OTHER WISE ANYONE CAN PUT ANYTHING UP AND THEN TAKE IT DOWN AND SAY IT WAS A PRICING ERROR.

    • +1

And? Did this take much time out of your day, putting the order in? Did you think they would honour everyone purchasing a $0.01 item? When was the last time you went to a major retailer, in their store, and spotted an item on the shelf marked at $0.01? Ever?

Most people thought it was going to be too good to be true, you have no legal basis to think they would legitimately sell you the item for $0.01.

  • +1

WELL ITS A NATIONAL COMPANY AND THEY WOULD AND SHOULD CHECK PRICING AND IN SALES ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE EG ITEM FREE - DELIVERY $10
IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU WORK FOR THEM BUDDY
WELL WE WILL SEE WHAT HAPPENS BUDDY I HAVE A LOT OF FREE

    • +2

QUIT THE CAPS !!! If I had an eye sight problem, I'd enlarge the text myself…

  • TIME TIME TIME

    • +1

No, I don't work for them, I've just been witness to many of these things.

If that's what you want to do with your time, have fun!

Oh, and for the record, mine is waiting to be picked up, I just couldn't be bothered driving the 30mins to get one in the end :)

  • No problem picking mine up from Robina today.
