Got one of these earlier in the year. Pretty good printer, and terrific at this price.

    • How is it for photo printing on proper paper?
I've got a Pixma MP620 (Does double the res) but the head is clogged and being using a CISS kit and it's just messy and old.. Don't print much, but want it more for quality photos.

I thought the photos looked pretty good, although I don't have another printer to compare the results against. The photos we printed ended up framed on a wall, so they aren't subject to too much scrutiny but the results seemed good to my eye.

First Dick Smith post since 21/11/2014 - 13:21 must be some kind of record. Where are the Eneloops?

  • Just got the $24 one from HN last week. Not sure if I need to feel sad now.

I dont think an inkjet printer should be classified as a bargain. At any price. The ink cost and consumption outweighs it IMO

    • +2

I would never buy an inkjet myself but spare a thought for those users whose advancement prospects depend on brightly coloured pie charts.

  • Ink Cartridges

    PGi650BK, CLi651BK, CLi651C, CLi651M, CLi651Y (optional XL ink tanks also available)

If you find cheap refillable auto reset cartridges, please post.

  • Why is this printer good?

    • +2

      Who said that it's good?

      • It must be decent for it to be a bargain!

        • +3

No, it only has to be cheap.

        • @xywolap:

ok.. so it is good value

  • looks like you can get compat cart on ebay so thats a big saving! I have epson TX220 and love the cheap carts off ebay been using for many years now.

    • Which eBay dealer are you getting your cartridges from?

      • I have gotten from many different ones.. I usually buy 20 at a time so by the time I run out.. I just find another.. have only had 1-2 carts that haven't worked .. I used to have a CISS system and that was great until the head blew on my canon 3000 and got new head smoked 2 mins after install.. but at the price of carts not sure if I would bother again.

        • Thanks!

YESTOTEN to works for this so becomes $49 when combined with the promo electricbluee posted above.

    • :( too bad i bought it before the code was posted

  • Had a few connection issues while trying to print off my jb hi fi 20% off code today. The print job kept erroring since the wifi connection was a bit dodgy. Eventually, it connected properly and I could print. Hopefully I wont have to deal with that too much!
