  • Hey,

So what is so special about this mouse?? Does it provide any advantage over the old white microsoft mouse I still have??

    Good bargin however for 12$!

Massari I'd suggest reading from http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/16981

If you're referring to an old white microsoft ball mouse, or even just an optical one, $12 is a worthwhile upgrade to laser.

    • Yea, I had the optical one. I never knew there was a new laser type mouse. 12$, why not!

      • instead of thinking of reasons 'why not' to buy it. i suggest you think of reasons why you should.
seems to be a common theme in your 'purchases'

        • Glad you noticed :)

Its always nice having a secret admirer.

After 6 yerars of using the same optical mouse, this 12$ investment in a new mouse seems like a worthy long term investment. But hey, who knows, my mouse could last another 5 years, and this 12$ which I 'wasted' on this mouse could have been invested in Ubank saver at 5.1 % interest for 5 years, resulting in a fairly hefty sum. Once I have made all this money, and my mouse breaks, only then might I consider investing some of the profit into another mouse, assumiung we are still using this technology. But hey, who knows.

@massari: you have to pay tax on the interest…

            • @jv: you beat me to it haha :)

@forlorn: i believe massari is once again trying to justify his impulsive buying habits :P

                • @forlorn: ahh i give up.

                  How about

My money = I buy what I like?

                  • @massari: then stopping posting comments like '12$, why not!'
there are many reasons why not.

A mediocre mouse based on reviews all around the net but at $12 it's a good buy.
Most people were satisfy by the performance, some complain about the size and it's noisy click.

Although I found it for $15 on staticice.com.au.

    • $15 doesn't include p&h while $12 includes..

  • definately a good buy, its a smart looking mouse, just ordered one to replace mine

  • My only complaint is that we can only order 1, but 1 is better than nothing and my order is in.

    • Yeah. The max per order was 5 a few days ago. Got myself 3 bringing the price down to $10.25 per mouse.

    • its back to 5 per customer now.

  • Yoink. Plan on using it with my new Laptop. After having used a G9, I would not touch this as a gaming mouse.

Edit: Delivery took two days; very efficient.

As I said in the previous post, great buy! I own one and the only complaint is that it's a little smaller than most mice, if you're a serious gamer then this isn't for you.

First thing I've bought from Catch of the Day. Great price.

  • difference between optical and laser mouses?

  • do laser mice use less power than optical mice?

  • Laser mouses give better precision, where as optical ones are worse.

    • +2

…and laser mice work better on more surfaces than optical ones… you rarely need a mouse mat with a laser mouse…

      • yeah and microsoft's claim that their blue led is better than laser is utter rubbish. laser trumps it.

Technology stuff is so cheap these days. For example, this mouse is even cheaper than an oporto chicken ($13). Not to mention that you have to come to the oporto shop to buy the chicken. For this mouse, they deliver to your door :)

    • mmm i love oporto burgers. Now that just made me hungry… Does any one know if Oporto's have any coupons..

      • nice toto. you awoke the overweight people! :(

        • Hey .. i like my burgers why does that imply i am overweight??

    • I have to agree with you about technology stuff being cheap. I think the best example is dealextreme.com and the amount of stuff that will arrive in your letterbox for less than $20, from half-way around the world.

I guess you have to remember however that the reason for this is that there are people in certain countries who work for 50c/hour or so… whereas if it was made on the Australian minimum wage then the cost difference would look very different.
