Has the site been fixed to accept more than 3 people?

      • Good deals on the site but sick to death of being dumped when returning from paypal and missing a deal. Get a new server already.

    • I think sometimes you might as well put the deal up on this site as well…

Are they good buys? everyone wants 1-2TBs

    • Funny that you're never on during the 'Pressure Cooker' sales.

  • $80 for a brandname pocket 320gb HD is pretty damn good….too bad i already bought one

    • true, but $20 more and you can get 500gb pocket hdd elsewhere. But really depends what you need

      • -2

Elsewhere? The 500gb pocket Astone for $100 was good enough to earn 80 votes here, so a deal like that is still rare at the moment, and it wasn't even 'elsewhere' it was at the same place… The next best according to staticice is $115 odd (i.e. not $20 more but at least $40 more after postage).

  • where can you get a Seagate 500GB Pocket Hard Drive for $100

  • Has anyone tried to pull the 2.5" inch drive out of one of these enclosures and fit in to a laptop .. e.g. a dell laptop?

    I've got a dell d620 with a Hitachi Travelstar HTS721010G9SA00 100 gb 7200 rpm Serial-ATA that i was thinking of upgrading.

I notice the seagate is only 5400 rpm… anyway its not clear if the seagate disk is SATA or not..

i figure i could switch the drives around.

    • Interesting that the Seagate website seems to contradict itself about the rpm for this ST903204EXM101-RK, as the main page says 5400 rpm but the specs page says 7200:
      http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.jsp?name=ST903204EXM101-RK…

I noticed this as well, but I checked the physical packaging on one unit from the warehouse and it says 5400 RPM.

Most 2.5" drive are 5400. It would have to be Sata.

    • My recommendation is not to put in a 5400 drive, it slows the d620 down terribly! better off buying a 7200 drive.

  • Western Digital has the scorpio pata 2.5 disk in 320gb. It doesnt look like seagate has any pata at that size in 2.5". So your probably right that it is a sata.

  • How can you get free shipping while paying through PayPal? on my PayPal confirmation page its showing $89.90 as item total :(

    • +1

Ah. Go 'Check Out with Paypal' on the checkout page.

      • I tried that and that's how i ended up on PayPal's "review your payment" page. i am still experiencing the same behavior.

        • My mistake… just bought one :)

The 2.5"isn't a bad deal, the 3.5" though is kinda lame, nobody really wants anything less than 1TB nowadays

  • Seagate used to be worth paying extra for when you compared them with WD - for about $30-50 more you got a 5 year warranty instead of 3.

Now I don't think they're worth paying extra for compared to WD because they've decreased their warranty to 3 years

  • I think the deal for Astone 500Gb drive for $99 + $6 bux delivery was allot better!
Picked up 5 of them haha i would of got more if i could buy more then 5!

They come with a nice slip case to protect them and the drives look very classy!
wasnt much point buying the extra case.. why have two cases for one drive?

the 320GB's is a good deal but nothing to get excited over.. Its all because of the Aussie Dollar getting up to 86c US

The 2.5" is a bad deal. Only $75 for WD with 3 years warranty from the link http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/17071

But the seagate 320GB only 2 years warranty!

you forgot to add postage…which takes it over $79.95….

  • positive vote from me..

Good price for the 640Gig WD HD

  • Does the Western Digital drive turn itself off when the computer turns off? and turns on when the computer turns on?

  • I really hate my seagate portable drive!! It requires, an extra USB port for POWER!! Very annoying especially if you're hooking it to a media player or a DVD player with only one USB port available… need to get power from my laptop! arkk…

FYI: WD portable drives uses only one USB for both data and power.

    • really…so thats why its cheaper than the freeagent haha

the freeagent seagate also only uses one USB port.

    • You don't always have to use the 'Y' USB cable. Some notebooks that can't provide the required power need it, but most desktops and all other AC powered devices should be fine with the 1 cable.

Maybe they gave you the Y cable but you don't have to use it. Try a standard mini USB plug and see if it works. Of course, if you plug it into a hub, like a USB port on a keyboard or a monitor it won't work, but try plugging it directly into your chassis or motherboard and see how you go.

      • I have the FreeAgent GO (2 versions). They both came with one USB, but split head for power and data, WORST cable design ever!! the connector where the cable split gets loose / easily broken if you don't store them carefully. And if you leave it in your bag…Game over!

I have plugged into the desktop USB port, still requires power! Buy one and try for yourself :) But using on desktop is not the problem. It's when you want to watch movies using a Media player as said above.

hmmm, my 320gb freeagent only has one usb head
