        • My concern is the activation would flag the phone (IMEI) being sold as a Telstra pre-paid and then gets locked sometime after purchase when it gets connected through iTunes.

Please do not be so foolish.

This blog http://exchange.telstra.com.au/2013/11/15/iphone-5-5s-5c-now… says for Pre-Paid You "may" need to pay an iPhone unlocking fee by either calling our Pre-Paid Unlocking Centre or visiting a Telstra store.

So what? These phones are not locked to a carrier.

  • Could someone please tell the address of Telstra;s store in Melbourne from where I can get iphone 5c. I have been to 2 stores and both advised that there is no such deal.

    Thanks

Check the Telstra site for Telstra Stores - not resellers/dealers stores. You can also call their 1800 number and ask them to check for stores that have stock of the colour(s) that you want.

  • I'm also interested to know if any JB or Telstra store in the West side of Melbourne has stock …

    Thanks in advance

  • I called Telstra 1800 676 642 and they advised that IPhone 5c valued for $600 something even green and other colors . They can't check the promotion running at Telstra's store.

If someone know the store in Melbourne (probably west ) then please advise.

    Thanks a lot !

Your statement makes no sense. However, I don't know that number - I called 1800-723-917. The lady was able to check stock on the iP5c 32GB for me. You have to ask about Green, Yellow, and/or Pink in order to know where the $399 phones are available.

They can't check the promotion running at Telstra's store.

They can, and do, just call the store directly or the correct 1800 number.
It is not a "store promotion", but these iPhones are only available in store (not online).

  • Glen Waverley Telstra store has plenty of stock.

Are you really that lazy? Look on line for some nearby Telstra Stores. Call them (or Telstra's 1800 number) and ask for what you want.

  • Thanks got one for an Xmas gift

    • Hey @Spets, did they open and activate it?

      • They tried to, but I told them it was a gift and was nice to the sales guy. He let me have it unopened, but did activate the SIM and took my email.

This was at the Arndale shopping centre Telstra Store in Adelaide

I have purchased four so far. All from Telstra. No SIMs activated and no iPhone boxes opened.

        • @A3Australia:
          are you reselling them?
          lol
sounds like bondi junction stores are easy going
so did they just hand you the device along with the sim kit and all you need is to pay?
just a simple quick trade no mention of activating?
planning to get an extra for a gift

Nup, friends saw the first one and then wanted one, and then one more.

          Telstra, yes. JB no.

so did they just hand you the device along with the sim kit and all you need is to pay?

Correct. SIM pack is stuck to phone with an easily removable circle of adhesive tape.

I did not have to say anything about gift.

Call Telstra this morning and learnt that their shop at Highpoint Shopping Centre has heaps of prepaid ones.

Came there at 4:30 pm just to be told that I have to wait 30 - 40 mins to be served. I came down to JB on 2nd floor and they got yellow & pink in stock. Checked IME and saw that it is not locked. Got one for my mother in law (as I have been an android at heart since I tried the iphone 4 and certained that I love android more)

    • how did you check with IMEI? is there a website? thanks

      • how did you check with IMEI? is there a website? thanks

There is really no need to check. They are all carrier unlocked.

  • Got one from forest hill vic. They only had pink. First the guy said that you need to be on a plan, got my details and activated the sim. Is there anything I need to do, or will the credit just expire in 1 month and that's it. I have put an Optus sim in it and it works

    • The starter pack appears to be a proper $30 one, which means you could use the $30 as Google Play credit (obviously you will need an Android device to benefit from it). You could choose long life plan, which expires in 6 months.

I haven't activated mine because I still have other starter packs which expire earlier. The $30 starter pack is actually another plus from this deal.

Yellow and pink are now being advertised on the Telstra website for $399 including delivery if anyone is still hunting for one.
